The Amels 242 is a superyacht from Dutch builder Amels. The Amels 242 is constructed from steel with a displacement hull design returning a top speed of 16 knots.

The 242 takes owner space and options to a whole new level, that level being the owner’s deck. Gone is an owner’s suite on the 242, the owner now has a dedicated 240 square meters of luxurious space and privacy to themselves, with a 180° panoramic view forward.

It’s not just the owner who benefits from the extra space, their guests do too. There are two large VIP suites on the main deck while at the aft end of the main deck is a 180m2 aft deck-cum-party area with dance floor, bar and 6.5m infinity pool.

Around both the main deck and owners deck the 242 has full-height windows to make the most of any view. Designer Tim Heywood has worked his magic on the lines, creating a timelessly elegant design with feature accents wrapping cleanly around the bridge deck. Closer to the water there’s a large beach deck aft and a fold-down sea terrace accessed from the lower deck.

The AMELS 242 is the perfect size yacht. It's so large that you have your own dedicated Owners Deck, magnificent spaces and grand lobbies, but still able to reach the most charming ports and romantic small bays. Plus, thanks to our Limited Editions approach to yacht building, we have total control of the production process and we deliver what we promise.

The aft deck offers a pleasing mix of shade and sun for al fresco dining together with friends and family.

The Main Deck’s centrepiece is the swimming pool. We were able to create the pool’s elegantly low profile by moving the Wellness Centre to midships and making the space below the pool into a technical area.

On Main Deck, the central lobby leads to a private VIP drawing room and the rotunda. Each of the two large, light and airy VIP Suites features three enormous stateroom windows, almost 40 square metres (431 sq ft) of space with roomy dressings and full bathrooms.

Tantalising sea views from the three Guest Suites on Lower Deck, and access to the sea is just metres away via the Beach Club.
