Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and superstructure she features a 21m beam and a 4.9m draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 8,076 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2020. Launched in January 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2022.
Exterior Design
The yacht J7 is crafted with a sturdy and solid design, embodying its purpose to explore. The yacht's four decks are concentrated amidships, supported by a wide-angled superstructure that imparts a sense of power, reflecting its primary design focus on exploration in the more remote corners of the globe.
The forward-leaning line enhances the appearance of driving forward with purpose. The curved decks soften the business-like lines, and while the aft deck is exposed, the overhang within the side support creates shaded areas for practical use. The raked bow incorporates a bulbous bow under the waterline to reduce drag, enhancing speed, range, efficiency, and stability for its adventurous journeys. Additionally, the high-sided decks offer protection during exploration.
The military grey hull stands out, complemented by a bold and bright yellow bootstripe, which extends forward with a matching yellow strake, creating a striking visual contrast.
Interior Design
The J7 explorer yacht maintains an air of secrecy, with no interior photographs released to the public domain.
