Palm Beach prepares for COVID-secure 2021 edition

Opening its doors on the 25 March 2021, the 35th edition of the Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) is now in the final preparation stages for a highly anticipated show.

Battling the odds against the ongoing global pandemic, the Palm Beach International Boat Show stands tall and alone as it prepares to welcome the yachting world to its glamorous docks.

Marking its return following postponement and eventual cancellation of the 2020 event, the Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) looks confident in the run-up to the 2021 edition with many shipyards confirmed to attend plus an array of exciting attractions.

Known for annually attracting more than $1.2 billion worth of nautical equipment and yachts for sale, the 35th edition returns to Lake Worth Lagoon with a few changes due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

A COVID-secure environment

Putting on an international event during a pandemic certainly implies there are going to be a few changes to the usual execution of the show.

Face masks are compulsory for attending the show, along with temperature checks on the gates for all visitors and exhibitors alike.

Complying with the industry-wide AllSecure standards created by Informa, social distancing is being allowed for around the event, with place markers on the floor and directions offered to help maintain a distanced flow around the exhibits.

Sanitisation and hygiene are of premium priority with hand sanitisers available and frequent cleansing of high traffic areas and exhibits.

Catering will also look a little different with more disposable single-use containers and either sit-down or pre-packaged food options.

Demonstrations are performed throughout the duration of the show with paddle boarding, hovercrafts and Jet Skis being just some of the offerings.

While at the show, take the opportunity to learn more about the world of yachting with a program of exclusive seminars and classes designed to educate and inform visitors on a range of different topics. There's even fishing tips for younger visitors.
