Sarp Yachts XSR 85s making good progress

Two hulls of Sarp Yachts XSR 85s are set to be delivered this year with the Turkish builder also working on a much larger superyacht.

Turkish yard Sarp Yachts has revealed two hulls of its 26m (85.3ft) XSR 85 are set to be delivered this year, with 62m (203.4ft) superyacht NACRE also underway.

Both XSR 85s feature naval architecture by Dutch architects Van Oossanen and exterior design by Turkish-based Red Yacht Design. The two hulls have very distinguishable color schemes, with one sporting a bright orange-red hull and the second painted in a cool blue tone.

Inside the 125GT yachts have the same interior construction across their three decks, but feature different interior stylings with one hull’s interior penned by Red Yacht Design and the second by Art Line. The yachts share certain characteristics, namely a spacious main saloon with a lounge area, central bar table and wheelhouse to the fore.

Accommodation is made up of a full-beam owners suite and three guest cabins, made up of a full-beam VIP cabin and two double cabins. Outside the XSR 85 features a second helm station on the sun deck, a lounge sofa suitable for alfresco dining and a bar table with seating.

The two XSRs feature different propulsion systems. The first makes use of twin MAN i6-800 diesel engines, which give her a top speed of 21 knots and a range of 1,000nm at 12 knots. The second hull features a hybrid propulsion system that can run entirely on her two Green Machine electric engines with battery banks.

The 62m (203.4ft) superyacht NACRE was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2017, but at the time was 55m in length. Since then she has increased in size by 7m (23ft) and will be able to accommodate 12 guests across six staterooms. She takes her name from the crystalline shine that gives pearls their lustre.

Sarp Yachts are based in Antalya, Turkey. Its facilities cover around 10,000 square meters and are able to build and refit yachts up to 80m in length. A relatively new shipyard it delivered its first superyacht, ‘La Passion’ in 2016. The 46m custom yacht took home was named the winner in The World Superyacht Awards Displacement Motor Yachts of below 500GT category the following year.
