On Deck
The door from the bathing platform to the cockpit has been designed to be completely flush when open, closing on gas struts to be held neatly in place with a catch. The handrails that are provided in the cockpit and throughout the boat, which offer support during rough weather, are praised.
The flooring on deck and the spacious feel of the yacht is greatly admired. The flybridge has a good size and offers a large sunbathing area, seating, and a bar complete with a barbecue, sink, and icemaker. The helm has long seating areas, allowing for comfortable lounging while cruising.
Interior
The boat has a classy feel, with its smaller windows giving it a cozy ambiance. Also lauded are the fine detailing in the overheads and the squared off seating. This model has a centrally located galley. The helm area has a practical design which allows easy access to the helm and navigational seats without the need to climb over each other. The helm features twin tone coloring and stitching, adding to the yacht's classiness.
Moving to the lower deck, the VIP guest cabin is light-filled with its large skylights and ensuite. He also mentions the third cabin, which has access to the day toilet. A highlighted feature is the presence of a fourth cabin, something not common in yachts of this size and era. Despite its size, it includes adult-size bunk beds and illuminated wardrobes, making it a very serviceable cabin.
The master cabin is not compromised either, featuring impressive detailing, large square windows and plenty of storage space. The ensuite bathroom is spacious, with a glass panel that can be closed off for privacy. The yacht also includes a fifth cabin which could serve as crew quarters, but is comfortable enough for guests.
Performance
The yacht's engine room houses twin Caterpillar C18 engines with 1150 horsepower. Also noted are the large fuel tanks, which provide a decent range. The engine room is well-arranged, with all circuit breakers and other necessary parts easily accessible.
In Summary
Nick concludes the tour by expressing his admiration for the Fairline Squadron 65, saying that it is easy to understand why Fairline is a company on the front foot when they produce such boats.
