On Deck

The yacht has many innovative design elements, such as the drop balconies that can be powered down with the push of a button to create a lower level. The boat's hi-lo platform and dual-sided engine room access were found to be very impressive. The boat has fantastic versatility, exemplified by the steps that can be lowered into the water and the letterbox passerelle for easy shore access.

Up on the flybridge, there is another extendable deck and a wonderful seat facing the back of the boat. The balcony on the flybridge, complete with barstools, also catch attention. Also featured here is a dining area, bar, and lounging area

There is a sliding window that creates a spacious foredeck area, ideal for sunbathing or as a dining area. The cockpit is spacious with a shower for rinsing off after swimming. The adjustable seating for a more social experience and the tender garage option were also notable features.

Interior

Inside the yacht, the galley with sliding windows that connected to the bar area and the main saloon with its adjustable table are exemplary features. The large, light-filled windows at the helm is also highlighted.

The lower deck cabins were all showcased. The spacious owner's cabin features skylights, a dressing area, and an ensuite bathroom. The guest cabin shared a similar layout, and the yacht could have two or three cabins in total, depending on the configuration.

Crew Accommodation

The crew cabin is accessed from the bathing platform and consists of a galley area, shower/ensuite, a bed and a seating area that can convert into another berth.  It is noted that this space is so good, it could be used as another guest cabin.

Performance

In the yacht's engine room, there are Volvo Penta D13-900 engines that provide a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots. There is an option for V8 MAN engines that could increase the top speed to 35 knots. The engine room is well-equipped and has ample storage space.

In Summary

Overall, Nick found the Galleon 640 to be a highly innovative and impressive yacht. He appreciated the many customization options, the luxurious and spacious accommodations, the beautiful interior design, and the extensive outdoor areas.
