On Deck
At the stern, the Merry Fisher 1095 has twin 300hp Suzuki outboard engines. These tilt completely clear of the water to reduce maintenance and corrosion risks when not in use. They are easy to access and service and don't take up much space. Bathing platforms sit either side of the engines, with a ladder on one side. A doorway cut into the bulwarks makes stepping aboard from the side simple.
The cockpit can be left open by unclipping and removing the cushions, which is handy for day trips. With the canopy up, it extends the living space. The cockpit seating slides forward on tracks to give room for the engines to tilt. When moored, the seating slides forward; underway, it slides back to maximise cockpit size. There’s a cockpit table with two leg positions, so it can still be used even when the seating is slid forward.
Outside, deep bulwarks make it safe to move around. Up on the foredeck, there are sunbathing areas with cushions that lift up or drop flat during navigation to maintain sightlines. An electric anchor winch sits forward, with storage lockers nearby for ropes and fenders. The anchor locker itself is accessed at the bow, with the control for the winch close at hand.
Interior Accommodation
The deck saloon is accessed from the cockpit. A manual bilge pump is fitted near the entrance. Underneath the saloon floor, a large storage void takes advantage of the absence of an inboard engine. Small lockers and drinks holders are dotted about for practical storage.
Inside, there is a hi-lo table that can drop to create extra sleeping space. The galley sits opposite the dinette. It includes a sink, a two-burner hob, a microwave, a fridge, a bin, and battery switches, with low-level lighting added under the units.
Big opening hatches overhead bring in air and light. A door next to the helm improves access to the side deck. This version is not the flybridge model, which means bigger hatches are fitted instead. Blinds pull across the overhead hatches, and a big opening window is fitted on the starboard side.
The helm seat pantographs backwards to create more seating at the helm. This arrangement lets multiple people face forward while cruising. The wide windscreen and large wipers are practical touches.
At the helm, the lift-up bolster seat allows standing or sitting while driving. Twin engine controls, power trim switches, engine instruments, stereo, multi-function display, trim tabs, and a bow thruster are all installed. Switches for wipers, anchor winch, and water systems are close at hand.
Lighting is neatly done throughout the interior, and large windows down the sides bring in plenty of natural light. Fixed and opening hatches above the saloon area improve ventilation further.
Owner Cabin
The forward cabin includes a clever sliding infill at the foot of the bed. When retracted, it creates more floor space. When extended, it lengthens the bed, ideal for taller owners. Storage runs around the cabin, with additional storage in lockers. Skylights and an opening hatch provide light and ventilation, with blinds and curtains fitted to cover the windows.
Guest Accommodation
The Merry Fisher 1095 has a three-cabin layout. On the port side, there is a cabin with a double bed that runs athwartships. There's a seat and some storage in here too. The headroom entering the cabin is generous before tapering down under the cockpit sole.
A second guest cabin lies further aft on the starboard side. This also features a double bed. In the walkthrough, some of the optional foredeck cushions were being stored inside, showing the flexible use of space. These guest cabins make the boat ideal for families, giving children separate cabins or extra space for storage.
Performance
The Merry Fisher 1095 is powered by twin 300hp Suzuki outboards, mounted externally to save space and simplify servicing. They tilt clear of the water to help prevent corrosion when not in use.
At the helm, twin throttles, power trims, trim tabs, bow thruster controls, and a multi-function display are all straightforward and easy to use. Switchgear for systems like the anchor winch, wipers, and water pumps is close at hand.
With this setup, the boat reaches a top speed of up to 37 knots. It carries twin 400-litre fuel tanks and has a cruising range of around 160 nautical miles, giving it strong day-boating and short cruising capability.
In Summary
The Merry Fisher 1095 is designed to be a practical, easy-to-use family boat, built by Jeanneau. Outboard engines give more cockpit and saloon storage, as well as easier servicing and corrosion prevention. The cockpit seating slides to accommodate the engines tilting, and the whole back end can be opened up for flexible use. Inside, the layout is clever and space-efficient, with three cabins, a good-sized heads with a separate shower, and a bright, airy saloon. Features like the pantographing helm seat, clever bed extension in the forward cabin, and deep side decks make life aboard simple and enjoyable. It’s a boat that manages to mix practical design with comfortable cruising without overcomplicating anything.
