It’s a raised pilothouse design with a generous beam of 7.7-metre (25ft) and a moderately shallow draught of two metres (6ft 7in), which gives its owner a wide choice of cruising grounds and is handy for getting in and out of smaller Mediterranean harbours, which can be impractical for deeper-draught vessels. Total tankage is 6,119gal of fuel and 1,043gal of water.

About
Interior
The 117’s accommodations include five large double staterooms for the owner and guests, plus separate quarters for a crew of five (including the captain) comprising a crew’s mess and three cabins. The owner’s stateroom is a large suite with panoramic windows at the forward end of the main deck. All overnight accommodation for guests is on the lower deck, in four double cabins.
All cabins and staterooms have private en suite bathrooms and showers. The interior décor can be fully customised to suit individual owners but the standard fit-out is in satin-varnished mahogany, except for the crew quarters where beech hardwood is used.
Exterior
The 117 has clean exterior styling that is unlikely to go out of fashion anytime soon. The bow is raked and moderately concave, clipper-style, and the forward half of the main deck has a subtle positive sheer.
The leading edges and sides of the superstructure have ‘eyebrows’ on both levels to reduce glare from direct sunlight. In addition to the signature Westport look and style which is common to all models, the 117 has forward-facing windows on the main deck.
The tender is stowed on the upper deck aft of the pilothouse, with a crane for deployment and recovery, which leaves ample space in the stern of the yacht for a sea-level beach club.
Performance
The 117’s standard propulsion package is a pair of Caterpillar C-32 ACERTs with a rated power output of 1,900hp when running at 2,300rpm. Top speed is in the region of 24 knots (assuming half load displacement) and it cruises at around 20 knots. Both gyro and fin stabiliser systems are fitted and there’s a 60hp bow thruster for harbour manoeuvres.
