The award winning 62m motor yacht Sea Owl was delivered to her owners in 2013 by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Winch Design, while De Voogt is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.2m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,494 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2009. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2013.
Exterior Design
Sea Owl's exterior, featuring an alluring Awlgrip Jade Mist and Oyster White color scheme, mirrors the whimsical yet sophisticated essence of its interior. Sea Owl's elegant profile is characterized by her generous beam of 12 meters, which not only enhances her majestic stance on the water but also ensures an abundance of space within. This expanse is thoughtfully utilized to create wide, open decks that offer serene privacy and security for the owners and their guests. The yacht's length was intentionally limited to 62 meters to strike a balance between grandeur and the intimate feel of a family retreat.
The wide beam also plays a pivotal role in the yacht's outdoor areas, which are designed to cater to various forms of leisure and pleasure. The beach club and sheltered decks are dedicated to diverse experiences, ensuring that every inch of space is optimized for enjoyment. The yacht's sundeck is strategically laid out to offer an aft terrace area which, during operational duties, accommodates the rescue tender. A neatly integrated crane, which blends into the superstructure, is utilized for the tender's deployment and retrieval. This area, free from the tender when guests are present, transforms into a spacious zone for relaxation and enjoyment of the surrounding views.
A prominent feature on the sundeck is a large cabinet that cleverly conceals a barbecue unit. The design allows for a harmonious transition between the interior and exterior spaces, as the teak deck extends from the outside into an impressive inside-outside dining area. The skylight and side windows introduce ample sunlight and can be opened to allow fresh air to circulate, enhancing the dining experience.
On the bridge deck, the aft offers a dining area that presents a more formal ambiance compared to the casual setting above. The space is designed with circular sun pads and tables, accompanied by a substantial dining table under an impressive ceiling feature. Cabinets clad with mosaic work flank the area, providing convenient access to refreshments.
The main deck continues the theme of thoughtful design and utility. The aft deck combines traditional layouts with high-quality execution, featuring fluted wooden pillars and a dining table with a green malachite stone top. Sliding doors open to reveal a welcoming seating area around a faux fireplace, surrounded by rare materials that contribute to the vessel's unique character.
The Sea Owl's tenders, named Hatchling and Fledgling, are high-speed carbon creations from Hodgdon Yachts, which further emphasize the yacht's dedication to adventure and exploration.
Interior Design
The interior design of Sea Owl delves into a realm where fantasy and reality intertwine to create an enchanting onboard experience. The guest lift, with its trompe l'oeil murals, provides a playful yet sophisticated means of transportation between decks. Each room is a carefully curated chapter in the yacht's story, from the Admiral's Room, which houses an 18th-century French desk replica, to the gravity-defying bookshelf featuring Newton's Principia.
The yacht's design cleverly eschews symmetry for a more organic and free-flowing layout, resulting in spaces that feel both expansive and intimate. The wide beam of the yacht facilitates full-beam accommodations that maximize privacy and comfort, while the upper saloon and balconies on the bridge deck offer sweeping views and an open ambiance.

The yacht's technical furnishings are all sea-fastened, including the rosewood Steinway baby grand piano that harmonizes with the music library to fill the saloon with melodies. Accommodation
Accommodating her guests with the utmost comfort, Sea Owl offers generous living quarters designed to cater to a variety of preferences and arrangements. The yacht has been crafted to host up to 14 guests across seven well-appointed cabins, each with its own distinct theme and style.
The centerpiece of Sea Owl's guest accommodations is the owner's suite, a remarkable sanctuary that blends exquisite materials, craftsmanship, and a serene ambiance, ideal for relaxation and privacy. This stateroom features a dedicated office space, replete with high-gloss cabinetry and a ceiling that incorporates an illuminated Mapo Mundo, providing an elegant backdrop for conducting business or personal matters. An en-suite bathroom and a concealed day head are conveniently situated within the owner's quarters.
Adjacent to the owner's suite are additional staterooms, each thoughtfully designed with unique themes such as Alice in Wonderland and maritime-inspired playing cards, offering an immersive and enchanting experience. In regards to the crew quarters, Sea Owl ensures that the crew of up to 22 who operate and maintain the yacht are also provided with comfortable and functional living spaces. The crew accommodations include well-appointed cabins, a dedicated mess area, and a small galley, all designed to ensure that the team can perform their duties with efficiency and comfort. The strategic placement of the chief engineer's cabin and staff cabin serves as a sound buffer between the engine room and guest areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Sea Owl is powered by two robust MTU 4000 series engines, which offer a combined horsepower of just over 4,000. This power setup enables Sea Owl to reach a maximum speed of 16 knots. For those voyages where a balance between efficiency and pace is preferred, a cruising speed of 12 knots is ideal, providing a substantial range of 5,000 nautical miles. Lower speeds can further extend this range, catering to the needs of long-range explorers and those looking to minimize their environmental impact.
The yacht's stability in various sea conditions is bolstered by advanced stabilizers. These systems ensure that Sea Owl maintains a poised composure, even in less than ideal weather, offering a stable platform from which guests can enjoy the yacht's myriad amenities.
Sea Owl is equipped with a dedicated soundproofed generator room housing three units of 308kW each. Any one of these generators is capable of handling the yacht's hotel load independently.
