Kieran Flatt is a freelance writer, editor and lifelong boating enthusiast with 20 years' experience in marine journalism and a background in watersports training as an RYA instructor in the UK and an FFV instructor in France. He keeps a powerboat on the south coast of England and a yacht in Holland.
He grew up around boats in the Caribbean and on the Isle of Wight, and has cruised his own yacht extensively around the UK, France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
His writing has been published on a wide variety of boating websites and in many boating magazines including Motor Boats Monthly, Practical Boat Owner, Canadian Yachting, Seahorse and Yachting Monthly, which he edited for eight years. He is currently writing a boating guide to The Netherlands and recently founded a marine content marketing agency, Mainstay Media.
