Fairline Yachts History & Heritage

Fairline emerged as a prominent figure in British and European yacht design and production throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, with a particular focus on the 10-20m (33-66ft) sector. Despite producing smaller numbers of yachts compared to its closest rivals, Fairline distinguished itself through the exceptional quality, capability, and desirability of its vessels, both in the new and used yacht markets.

The Targa range, a trailblazer in sports yacht evolution, played a pivotal role in shaping market expectations. It met the demands of the time, coinciding with the rise of budget airlines that made it more accessible for boaters to fly to the inviting and easily navigable warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Building on the success of the Targa, Fairline ventured into the flybridge market with the introduction of the smaller Phantom and larger Squadron ranges. The brand weathered challenges during the 2007 recession, experiencing a significant drop in production numbers and undergoing several changes in ownership.

Now back on a stable course, Fairline has streamlined its operations under current ownership. The old Phantom flybridge range has been integrated into the Squadron lineup, focusing on two key ranges. Notably, the brand marked a resurgence with the introduction of the award-winning F-Line sportsboat in early 2019, showcasing Fairline's commitment to innovation and excellence in the yachting industry.
