Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 26'7" beam and a 7'8" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 348 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fourth yacht built on the Navetta 42 design. She was delivered to her owners in August 2020.

Exterior Design

The cockpit on the main deck is a notable feature, designed to prioritize practicality and comfort. It includes a spacious seating area with low-slung furniture, coffee tables, armchairs, and sofas, all arranged to create a welcoming environment for relaxation. This area is well-sheltered, offering ample shade, and is equipped with an extendable canopy that provides additional protection over the adjacent beach club area.

Boarding gates are installed on both sides of the yacht for convenient access, allowing guests to step directly onto the vessel from a quay without needing to use the bathing platform. On the starboard side, additional storage is available, and a terrace can be accessed, which also has an entry point from the salon. The port side grants access to the foredeck, which will be explored further in the tour.

The yacht's deck gear has been significantly reinforced to accommodate the towing of a sizeable 11-meter chase boat, a preference over carrying a traditional tender. This upgrade includes robust Lofrans windlasses and oversized cleats to ensure secure and reliable towing capabilities.

The yacht's beach club is designed with a transom that lowers to water level, creating an inviting area close to the sea, complemented by seating and space for beanbags, and a canopy for shade. Direct access to the toy chest is provided, housing jet skis and scuba gear, emphasizing the yacht's focus on aquatic activities and leisure.

Moving to the foredeck, it serves both as a social space and a functional area. It features a large sun pad, a seating arrangement with a dinette, and storage solutions, including a substantial compartment beneath the sun pad. The foredeck also houses the yacht's anchoring and mooring equipment, which has been upgraded to premium standards, including robust winches and anchors to facilitate secure anchoring in various conditions.

The sundeck is one of the yacht's most expansive outdoor areas, offering a variety of amenities for entertainment and relaxation. It includes sunbeds, a covered lounge area, a well-equipped bar, and a hot tub with enhanced heating capabilities. Safety is considered with glass balustrades surrounding the perimeter, providing security without obstructing views.

Horizon's design focuses on practicality, comfort, and understated elegance, ensuring a sophisticated and professional environment for guests.

Interior Design

Horizon's interior design exhibits a restrained aesthetic, characterized by a blend of walnut timber and lighter materials on the carpets and sofas. The furniture, provided by Monotti, adheres to a minimalist philosophy, favoring clean lines and neutral tones, with occasional splashes of color from strategically placed artwork. The saloon area benefits from large windows that provide abundant natural light and enhance the spacious feel of the room.

The main dining area comfortably accommodates 10 guests, with all crockery and tableware neatly stored within adjacent cabinets. The positioning aligns with floor-to-ceiling windows, which can be opened to merge the indoor dining experience with the outdoor terrace. The sky lounge also offers an intimate dining option, creating a cozy atmosphere elevated by panoramic views.

The bridge prioritizes functionality and ease of use, with twin 24-inch Hatterland screens for navigation and system controls integrated into the captain's chairs. Additional 24-inch touchscreen monitors allow for comprehensive system monitoring. The design includes space for paper charts, emphasizing traditional navigation methods alongside modern electronics.

Customized to accommodate the owner's culinary needs, the galley is enlarged beyond the standard specifications, incorporating high-end appliances such as triple induction Gaggenau hobs, professional Miele ovens, and an upgraded extraction system. The space is designed to facilitate professional cooking standards, equipped with a Miele dishwasher and ample cooling and storage areas, including a separate pantry.

Accommodation

Horizon provides accommodation for up to twelve guests in six well-appointed suites. The layout includes an owner's cabin and four VIP cabins, each designed to offer a private retreat for guests during their time at sea.

The owner's suite is a highlight of the onboard accommodations, located on the main deck with a panoramic view of the surroundings. This suite boasts a spacious and elegantly furnished area, featuring a large, comfortable bed, ample storage, and a dedicated study zone for those who may need to attend to business matters while aboard. The en suite facilities are generously proportioned, providing a sense of tranquility and privacy, with separate areas for the shower and toilet. The use of upgraded materials, such as marble and plush carpets, adds to the sense of luxury in the owner's suite.

Guests staying in the VIP cabins will also enjoy a high level of comfort and privacy. Each VIP cabin is furnished with a double bed, storage options, and a private en suite bathroom. Large hull windows allow natural light to fill the space and provide guests with views of the sea. These cabins have been customized to include features such as upgraded bed frames, nightstands, and marble finishes, ensuring a stay that is both comfortable and stylish.

For guests with children or those requiring additional sleeping arrangements, the two twin cabins offer flexibility with their Pullman berths, which can be deployed to accommodate an extra guest in each room. These cabins are also equipped with en suite bathrooms, maintaining the standard of privacy and convenience found throughout the guest accommodations.

Crew accommodations have been thoughtfully arranged to offer up to nine crew members comfortable living quarters, ensuring they are well-rested and ready to provide top-tier service to guests. The crew area includes a private mess and individual cabins, allowing the crew to maintain a separate space from guest areas.

Performance & Capabilities

Horizon is propelled by twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel engines, each generating a robust 1,470 horsepower. These 12-cylinder powerhouses are engineered to provide reliable performance and ensure smooth sailing across the seas.

Horizon is designed to deliver a top speed of 15 knots, with a cruising speed that comfortably sits at 13 knots. This vessel is equipped with fuel tanks that can hold up to 37,000 liters of fuel, granting her a maximum range of approximately 1,600 nautical miles when traveling at an economic speed of 10 knots. This substantial range affirms Horizon's capacity for extended voyages and transatlantic journeys.

Horizon is also equipped with twin 80-kilowatt Kohler generators, which add to the redundancy and reliability of the vessel's power systems, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted power supply during extended trips.
