Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 23'4" beam and a 4'9" draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 198 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the GTT 115 design. Launched in February 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2017.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Jaaber yacht is distinguished by its automotive influences, courtesy of Studio Porsche's involvement. The yacht's color, Rhodium Silver, is straight from the Porsche paint shop. The cockpit area features Pepita upholstery, just like classic Porsches from the 1960/70s.
A carbon fiber passerelle provides a sleek boarding experience. The bar on the yacht's deck echoes the rear spoiler of a Porsche 911, again incorporating automotive design elements into its features. The yacht's exterior also includes floor-to-ceiling windows with cutaway bulwarks and glass inserts, creating unobstructed sea views for seated passengers.
The front deck is equipped with a massive sunbed, under which lies storage for a six-meter dinghy and a jet ski, along with a crane for easy deployment over the bow. This setup allows for straightforward access and use, even when berthed stern-to in port.
On the sundeck, a spacious 95 square meter area is available, featuring sunbathing spaces, outdoor dining under a shaded hard top, a 55-inch TV with a sound system, and additional seating and sunbathing areas. The deck includes a jacuzzi and a bar area, with subtle design cues reflecting the wing of a Porsche sports car.
The yacht's lighting design includes four LED lights on the side, mirroring the headlights of current Porsche models, adding another layer of automotive influence to the Jaaber's exterior design.
Interior Design
Jaaber's interior is like stepping into a luxury sports car showroom. Amara ebony joinery features a distinctive petrified wood effect, with its black grain highlighted by gold tinges, creating a consistent aesthetic throughout the vessel. Complementing this are the Sahara noir marble and limestone, all originating from singular pieces to ensure uniformity.
Lealpell leather accents are prominent, with brown leather even covering the stairs leading to the lower decks. The design draws automotive inspiration, particularly evident in the sinuous curves of the headboards and beds, capped with carbon fiber. This material is used in various furnishings to reinforce the car motif, further emphasized by the illuminated number emblems outside each cabin door, reminiscent of racing car detailing.
The helm of Jaaber is noteworthy for its minimalist design, featuring small steering wheels and an array of control systems. The helm's standout feature is the Porsche Recaro seat, adding a touch of automotive sophistication. The control panels are integrated seamlessly, offering advanced navigation capabilities.
Moving to the galley and crew area, this space is designed for efficiency and functionality. Located forward of the helm, it includes a mess area for crew relaxation and a well-equipped galley for meal preparation and storage. This area also houses three crew cabins and a laundry facility, ensuring ample space and amenities for the crew's needs.
The main saloon exudes a refined aesthetic with its Pepita finish carpet, echoing classic Porsche designs. Floor-to-ceiling windows and glass-cut bulwarks allow for uninterrupted views of the sea from within the saloon. A large screen and detailed lighting fixtures add to the functionality and ambiance of the space. The dining area is strategically placed just inside the doors, offering a flexible environment that can be adjusted for open-air or climate-controlled dining.
Accommodation
The yacht Jaaber offers accommodation for up to six guests with a focus on comfort and design. The vessel is equipped with three cabins, including a master cabin and two VIP cabins, providing high-quality living spaces.
The master cabin features carbon fiber trim and leather that echoes the interior of a sports car. It includes a desk and a walk-in wardrobe, along with a well-designed ensuite bathroom with a separate shower and distinctive sinks.
The two VIP cabins are spacious and come with ensuite facilities. They keep the Porsche theme alive with illuminated keyplates on the floor and numbered doors similar to those found on a sports car. Each cabin is equipped with a large TV system, ensuring entertainment and relaxation.
Crew accommodation includes three twin-berth cabins located at the front of the yacht supporting six crew, along with a mess area and a galley for food preparation and storage. A laundry area is also provided, ensuring that the crew is well supported in their duties.
Performance & Capabilities
Under the hood, the yacht Jaaber is powered by two MAN 1650 horsepower V12 engines, which drive through pod drives, allowing Jaaber to reach a top speed of approximately 22 knots. At a cruising speed of 19 knots, the yacht promises efficient travel without compromising on speed.
An outstanding feature of Jaaber is its hybrid drive system, which incorporates a Fischer Panda variable speed generator. This setup enables the yacht to operate silently at speeds up to seven knots with the main engines turned off, offering a serene and eco-friendly cruising experience. Furthermore, when cruising at 10 knots, Jaaber boasts an impressive range of 3,500 nautical miles, making it capable of transatlantic journeys. This capability aligns with its designation as a Grand Turismo Transatlantic (GTT) vessel, reinforcing its suitability for extended voyages.
The focus on quiet operation is notable, as even when the main engines are running, the yacht maintains a low noise level, enhancing the onboard comfort for all passengers.
