MAN

MAN is a major player in the marine power sector, with three dedicated ranges of diesel propulsion engines that are optimized for powering yachts and sport fishing boats, and aimed squarely at the luxury end of the market.

Within the yachting sector, MAN focuses on efficient power delivery across the rev range, making them ideal for larger yachts due to their compact engine size, and after-sales service, which includes a post-installation examination and extensive commissioning work. 

The main ranges include a compact 12.4-liter turbo diesel with six inline cylinders and a power range of 730bhp to 850bhp, a series of 16-liter V8s that deliver 1,000bhp to 1,300bhp, and a highly esteemed range of 24-liter V12s with a power range of 1,400bhp to 2,000bhp. Engines with more power are also available. Like all the other major players, MAN has a worldwide service network, and spare parts are readily available at short notice in most locations. 

MAN is headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany, where all development, design, and production take place. Around 100,000 engines roll off the production line every year. Hands-on owners who want to get involved with the servicing and maintenance of their engines can even attend specialist training courses tailored to their individual needs at the on-site MAN Academy.
