Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.7m beam and a 2.15m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 410 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fourth yacht built on the DOM133 design. Launched in June 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
Lee features a spacious swim platform, offering guests an expansive area for relaxation and easy access to the water. A notable aspect of Lee's design is the innovative passerelle, which retracts neatly into a compartment within the hull, maintaining the yacht's sleek profile when not in use. The symmetry of the design ensures that both port and starboard sides mirror each other, preserving the aesthetic integrity of the vessel's stern.
The yacht's upper deck is equipped with removable carbon fiber poles and Spectra lines, providing a lightweight yet secure framework for sun awnings. One of the yacht's key features is the plunge pool, which includes a rising floor mechanism that allows the area to be converted into a flat deck space at the push of a button. This design choice offers both functionality and visual appeal, as the pool's water is stored in a holding tank for recycling.
Lee boasts a spacious cockpit with flexible furnishings that can be rearranged to suit various occasions, emphasizing the adaptability of the space for guest comfort and entertainment. The vibrant color accents complement the overall design, enhancing the visual experience on board.
Additionally, the yacht includes discreet technical access points on both sides, with the port side leading to the lazarette, while the starboard side provides entry to the engine room. These cleverly designed entryways offer practicality without compromising the yacht's clean lines.
Moving to the bow, Lee features a generously sized area that accommodates multiple guests for sunbathing. The yacht's large windshields are equipped with substantial wipers, cleverly concealed within the superstructure to maintain a tidy appearance.
The bridge deck aft is another area designed with attention to functionality and aesthetics. The automatic doors and flush thresholds contribute to the yacht's streamlined look, while a round table with a lazy Susan facilitates social interaction among guests. The floating glass staircase, custom furniture, and modular shading solutions further illustrate the yacht's commitment to elegance and utility.
On the sundeck, the design continues to prioritize openness and versatility. Glass barriers are strategically placed to protect against wind while minimizing maintenance. The area is well-equipped for entertainment, featuring a large plunge pool, service bar, and retractable sunshades. The sound system, while prominent, is designed to be removable, demonstrating the yacht's adaptability to different guest preferences and occasions.
The tender garage has a crane system for tenders and jet skis, and a substantial area dedicated to storage and maintenance tasks.
Interior Design
The wheelhouse is equipped with advanced navigation systems and communication equipment, including four ICOM VHF radios and a yacht management system. The captain's chair is strategically offset to the port side to optimize space and provide a clear walkway from port to starboard. The helm is furnished with a data helm, backup joystick, and shift and throttle controls. The dashboard extends centrally, housing multifunction displays from Furuno and a gyro compass. The environment is geared for professional use, with all elements clearly labeled and finished with a carbon fiber inlay for a sleek appearance.
The audio system aboard Lee is a highlight, featuring a club-quality setup rarely seen on yachts. The system is deliberately showcased, indicating the owner's appreciation for high-fidelity sound. The pilothouse also includes stabilizer controls, dual windlass, and an intercom system to facilitate communication across the vessel.
In the galley, practicality reigns. The layout is unique, with a split arrangement that allows for ample preparation space and appliance accessibility. The galley is equipped with a six-burner induction cooktop, a large oven, a microwave, a steamer, and a commercial hood. A deep fryer, Mealy professional dishwasher, and large sinks round out the amenities. The fridge and freezer provide substantial storage for provisions, emphasizing the yacht's readiness for extended voyages.
The social areas of Lee are designed with an emphasis on comfort and utility. The Sky Lounge features plush sofas from Cassina and a service bar that complements the space. The bar area is generous, equipped with storage and positioned for convenient access to the adjacent pantry. Water dispensers offering still and sparkling options are installed, reflecting the industry's shift towards environmental consciousness by reducing plastic usage.
Lighting throughout the yacht is carefully considered, with indirect fixtures that accentuate the interior without overwhelming the senses. The dining area boasts a custom table set against a backdrop of panoramic windows and is flanked by storage consoles. The salon area features floating furniture designs and a mirror TV, which merge to create an inviting atmosphere for guests.
Throughout Lee, the design maintains a recurring motif of rounded shapes, integrating into storage, cabinetry, and furnishings, creating a cohesive visual theme. This is complemented by natural materials and textures that give the interior spaces a balanced and harmonious feel.
Accommodation
Lee offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in five suites comprising an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, two double cabins and a twin cabin.
Guests enter through a private foyer that leads to a spacious and elegantly appointed owner's suite. The California king bed serves as the centerpiece, surrounded by an environment of fine craftsmanship and bespoke features. The owner's suite includes a walk-in closet with open shelving and secure storage options, such as an integrated safe. The en-suite bathroom in the owner's suite is a highlight, showcasing exquisite onyx finishes, dual vanities, and an expansive shower area with a rain head. An additional touch of sophistication is provided by the infinity mirrors, adding depth and a touch of modernity to the space.
The VIP stateroom doubles as a secondary master suite, complete with queen-size bed, ample storage, and a dedicated en-suite bathroom that features unique marble finishes and a spacious shower. The stateroom mirrors the yacht's overall aesthetic, with modern design elements and built-in technology that integrate into the luxurious environment.
Additional guest cabins are positioned for optimal privacy and ease of access. These cabins offer queen-size beds, and are each equipped with their own en-suite bathrooms, which boast distinctive marble finishes, generous showers, and ample storage space for guests' personal belongings. The cabins' floating nightstands and indirect lighting create a serene ambiance that is both inviting and restful.
For larger groups or families, Lee also includes a bunk cabin, perfect for younger guests or staff. The bunk cabin mirrors the design language found throughout the yacht, featuring similar marble finishes in the en-suite bathroom and consistent design motifs.
The crew quarters for up to nine ensure that those who operate and maintain the yacht enjoy a comfortable and functional living space. The crew mess serves as a communal area for the crew to relax and dine, and is equipped with essential amenities, including a laundry facility with washers and dryers. Crew cabins are efficiently designed, featuring bunk beds with privacy curtains, storage solutions, and en-suite bathrooms that maintain the same level of finish and functionality found in guest areas.
Performance & Capabilities
Lee is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, each delivering a robust 1,600 horsepower. These V8 twin-turbo engines are designed for efficiency and power, providing the vessel with a comfortable cruising speed. At approximately 1,800 RPM, Lee can achieve a cruising speed of 10 to 12 knots, maintaining a fuel-efficient burn rate of around 200 liters per hour.
To reduce environmental impact, the yacht incorporates a modern emission control system using urea injection into the exhaust, similar to the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) systems used in land vehicles. This setup ensures compliance with stringent emission standards, particularly important for operations in the Caribbean and American waters.
For electrical power, Lee is equipped with twin Caterpillar C4.4 generators, each capable of outputting 100 kilowatts. This power reserve is more than sufficient to operate all onboard systems, including the electric bow thruster and electric fin stabilizers, which provide exceptional maneuverability and comfort during voyages. The stern thruster operates off the Power Take-Off (PTO) from the engines, further enhancing Lee's agility at sea.
When it comes to onboard power management, a single generator can power the boat's systems, including the bow thruster, although using both generators simultaneously offers redundancy and balances the electrical load. The generators ensure that all operations, from daily activities to precise docking maneuvers, are supported without compromise.
Lee also features a bio-sea ballast treatment system, which is particularly useful given the yacht's aft pool with a floor that can be raised and lowered. The ballast system helps to counterbalance the weight of the pool and maintain optimal stability and trim.
In terms of waste management, Lee is equipped with an advanced oily water separator and an efficient black water treatment system from Hammann. The separator filters bilge water to less than 15 parts per million, allowing for safe discharge under MARPOL regulations. The black water treatment system processes waste water efficiently, making it clean enough for discharge at sea, adhering to the environmental protection standards.
For fresh water production, Lee boasts two Idramar 9000 series reverse osmosis water makers, with a combined output of 1,600 liters per hour. These units are essential for supplying the yacht's two swimming pools and accommodating the fresh water needs of guests and crew. The system includes remineralization and UV filtration processes to ensure the water quality is of the highest standard.
Lee offers a range that can reach up to 5,000 or 6,000 nautical miles at reduced speeds, making transatlantic crossings feasible on a single tank of fuel. This impressive range provides flexibility and freedom for extended cruises in remote locations.
The yacht's climate control is managed by two Frigimar high-efficiency chiller inverters, capable of cooling the numerous fan coil units throughout the vessel. The chillers work in parallel, but can also operate individually at night, ensuring consistent and adaptable temperature control.
