Baglietto launches 40m superyacht ASTERA

Italian yard Baglietto has launched the fifth hull in its 40m (131ft) DOM133 superyacht series, named ASTERA. Originally sold in 2022, the yacht is expected to be delivered to its American owner in late 2024.

Designed by Rome-based Stefano Vafiadis, the new superyacht features a split-level beach club with an infinity pool with a lifting bottom to maximize cockpit space. Owners also have the option to install a lift for guest transport between decks. Other highlights include panoramic windows that convert into terraces.

The model is an extraordinary moment for Baglietto. Stefano Vafiadis has penned a little megayacht here with no competition to it.”

Elsewhere, the open aft deck hosts an al fresco dining area alongside a lounging space, with stairs leading to a separate sun lounging area on the upper deck. The tri-deck motor yacht is capable of hosting up to 10 guests over five staterooms in addition to nine crew members onboard.

With naval architecture by Baglietto, ASTERA is constructed from an aluminum hull and superstructure, resulting in a volume of 411 GT, a beam of 8.7m (29ft), and a draft of 2.15m (7ft). Supported by a hybrid propulsion system, ASTERA is powered by a pair of Caterpillar C32 engines.

The launch of ASTERA marks the fifth hull in Baglietto's DOM 133-line.
