Introducing Moonrise: Feadship Launches the Striking 101m Superyacht 1013

The striking new 101m superyacht Moonrise (formerly Project 1013) by Feadship has officially launched at their Makkum facility in the Netherlands, marking another milestone for the Dutch shipyard.

This new vessel is an evolution of her predecessor, also named Moonrise, which debuted in 2020 at 99.9 metres. While the two yachts share exterior styling by Studio De Voogt and interiors by Rémi Tessier, the latest iteration incorporates notable design and technological enhancements.

Moonrise maintains the elegant grey and snow-white paintwork of her predecessor and features a distinctive vertical bow. However, one of the most significant changes is the complete removal of traditional domes, which previously housed VSAT and TVRO antennas. Instead, Starlink satellite receivers are seamlessly integrated into the yacht’s superstructure. This modification enhances connectivity and streaming capabilities while preserving a sleek aesthetic.

Additional design refinements include a taller mast, an expanded sundeck with a massage area, gym, and hairdressing salon, as well as larger exterior decks and an extended swim platform. The yacht also introduces an owner’s deck and a private cinema on the bridge deck.

Feadship placed considerable emphasis on noise reduction, improving both underwater and interior sound levels. This was achieved through specially designed propellers and appendages, as well as the first known fully resilient-mounted anchor winch foundation. The optimized chain routing further minimizes vibration and sound, enhancing onboard comfort whether at anchor or underway.

The hull of Moonrise was constructed at the Zwijnenburg Shipyard in 2022 before moving to Feadship’s Makkum facility for outfitting. She was first spotted in October 2023 as she was lowered into the water. As one of Feadship’s largest launches to date, Moonrise has an estimated volume of 4,000 GT and a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure. Large glass panels throughout suggest an interior rich in natural light, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Moonrise Secures Her Spot in the YB100 Rankings

When Moonrise is delivered, she will take her place among the world’s biggest yachts by gross tonnage in the YB100 rankings. With a volume of 4,000 GT, she is set to surpass her predecessor, which currently sits at 64th place with 3,945GT. This would place the new Moonrise just below the 4,184 GT superyacht Dubawi.

In addition to her ranking by gross tonnage, Moonrise will also enter the traditional Top 100 yachts measured by length. At 101m, she will take the 65th position, sitting above the 100.8m I Dynasty and below the 101.2m motor yacht Attessa IV.

Currently in the final outfitting stage, Moonrise will soon commence sea trials before being delivered to her owner. As the latest addition to Feadship’s fleet, she upholds the yard’s reputation for producing impressive vessels with advanced engineering and bespoke luxury.
