Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.1m beam and a 2.6m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 201 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of L'Instant IV reflects a functional and robust build. The hull and superstructure are painted white, offering a clean and timeless look. The boot top and below the waterline areas are finished in black, adding a striking contrast to the white exterior.

Starting at the transom, the entry point is straightforward, leading into a well-organized lazarette housing technical equipment. This design choice prioritizes utility over recreational or aesthetic features typically found in this area, such as beach clubs or tender storage.

Moving to the aft deck, there is a practical dining setup with a fixed seating area and director's chairs around a dining table. This space is optimized for both functionality and comfort, allowing passengers to enjoy the experience of being underway.

The side decks are noteworthy for their material construction. Unlike most yachts of its size, which are generally built from composite fiberglass for fast cruising, L'Instant IV features a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. This choice enhances durability and stability, making the yacht suitable for extensive cruising.

On the foredeck, the design focuses on crew functionality rather than guest leisure. The area includes the chain locker, anchor gear, and a bosun's locker, which serves as an emergency escape route for the crew. The decision to allocate this space for technical use rather than guest amenities like hot tubs or sunbathing areas allows the superstructure to extend further forward. This design increases the yacht's interior volume, offering more usable space inside.

The flybridge is designed with practicality in mind. It features a Williams tender and a jet ski, facilitated by a crane. The sunbathing area and hot tub are well-placed, providing ample space for relaxation. The hardtop allows for comfortable dining without the need for additional shading devices, enhancing the usability of this space.

Interior Design

The interior design of L'Instant IV is crafted by Celeste Dellanna, utilizing cherry and briar wood joinery to foster a welcoming ambiance. The saloon features large windows that provide panoramic views and fill the space with natural light. The dining area is equipped with a table that seats eight guests comfortably, allowing for formal and casual dining experiences.

The main salon area features a cozy seating arrangement and a dining space that ensures comfort even when dining indoors. A small study area is thoughtfully incorporated, providing a convenient spot for uploading vacation photos or handling work emails without isolating from family activities.

The yacht's galley, located on the port side, is compact yet efficient. It benefits from ample natural sunlight, enhancing the working environment. The galley is equipped with all necessary appliances and has a practical worktop for meal preparations. An additional fold-down table offers extra workspace when needed and serves as a quick dining spot for the crew.

The helm, or bridge, is surprisingly spacious for a yacht of this size. Designed to facilitate long-range cruising, it allows the whole family to join and interact with the captain comfortably. The bridge area underscores the yacht's focus on usability and long-term cruising.

Accommodation

L'Instant IV provides accommodation for up to 10 guests in a thoughtfully designed layout. The yacht features five cabins, each crafted with cherry and briar wood joinery by designer Celeste Dellanna. The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck, offering ample space for the owner.

Additionally, there are two VIP cabins each with their own seating area, ensuite bathroom, and plenty of closet space. Another guest cabin offers two single bunks, an ensuite bathroom, and good wardrobe space, making it suitable for children or additional guests. The final guest cabin features a comfortable seating area, a desk, a sizeable bed, and an ensuite bathroom with a modern shower.

For the crew, L'Instant IV includes dedicated quarters that can accommodate up to five members. The crew area includes a mess, a captain's cabin with an ensuite bathroom, and two additional cabins, each with an ensuite.
