Design & Construction

Designed around an aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.45m beam and a 4.8m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 290 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2008. She was delivered to her owners in August 2010.

Exterior Design

Marie features a classic exterior design complemented by modern elements. Her sleek black hull is accentuated with red accents both above and below the waterline. This design choice not only enhances her aesthetic appeal but also hints at her competitive sailing capabilities.

Twin steering wheels with varying levels of gearing are positioned forward of the owner’s deckhouse, enhancing the sailing experience. These are protected by a permanent bimini top fitted with overhead windows, allowing visibility of the 1,445 square meters of North Sails. In the racing setup, the foredeck becomes a functional area free of obstructions.

Marie’s rigging includes high-modulus carbon masts and furling booms, supported by advanced materials like Dyneema running rigging and PBO standing rigging. These choices contribute to her agility and speed on the water.

The crow's nest, capable of holding two people, is a notable feature. It rises to the height of the third spreader on the main mast, providing a unique vantage point for navigation or leisure. The crow’s nest is practical for navigating challenging waters and entertaining guests.

Interior Design

Marie’s interior design reflects a blend of classic aesthetics and modern functionality. The design primarily features anigre wood, chosen for its Art Deco-era appeal and glossy finish. This choice is unique for a yacht with Victorian influences, yet it complements the overall design well.

The lower deck salon is a central feature, notable for its grand piano, which underscores the owners' commitment to blending music and sailing. The salon is expansive, with more than half the space open to the deckhouse above, creating a two-story effect. The adjacent formal dining salon is accessible via a sliding wall, enhancing the sense of openness and flow within the space.

The deckhouse salon is designed to be inviting, with cambered ceilings that use narrow glossy wood strips, providing a clean and cohesive look. Simplified crown molding and painted portlight surrounds add to the bright and welcoming ambiance. Pocket doors are strategically used to make spaces feel larger and more connected, and round-backed chairs are chosen for their space-saving design.

The main deckhouse has been expanded compared to similar yachts, eliminating the forward deckhouse to accommodate a variety of tenders and to provide a flush foredeck ready for racing. This deckhouse also includes a ship's office below the deck salon, offering a private workspace separate from the crew mess.

Accommodation

Marie offers accommodation for up to eight guests across four cabins. The master suite includes a desk and a daybed, providing a quiet and climate-controlled space with panoramic views. The suite is complemented by two equally-sized baths; one is equipped with a tub, while the other features a steam room/sauna, allowing for flexibility and convenience.

In addition to the master suite, Marie includes three well-appointed guest cabins. Each cabin is designed with attention to detail, ensuring guests have a restful and enjoyable stay.
