This was the seventh yacht built on the Paragon 94 design.
Exterior Design
Moonshot's layout includes walkaround sidedecks that facilitate easy line handling, ensuring that crew members can perform their duties with efficiency.
At the stern, a large cockpit is designed to cater to water sports enthusiasts, offering ample space for various activities. This area serves as a versatile platform for entertainment and leisure, seamlessly extending the yacht's living spaces into the open air. The inclusion of teak decking throughout the main deck not only provides durability but also adds a traditional nautical aesthetic that complements the yacht's overall design.
The exterior aft deck is equipped with portside engine controls and thrusters, alongside a Glendinning remote control for precision docking. This area is thoughtfully laid out with a curved molded bench seat, a large teak dining table, and additional seating, creating an inviting space for outdoor dining and socializing. Overhead lights with dimmer control and two stereo speakers enhance the ambience, making it suitable for both daytime and nighttime gatherings.
Moonshot's hull and deck construction prioritize both form and function. The yacht features teak decking all around the main deck, large storage lockers, and cambered decks with outboard drain channels for efficient water management. Safety and accessibility are addressed through the inclusion of Coast Guard-approved lighting, watertight forward deck hatch, and bulwark doors that facilitate easy movement around the vessel.
Interior Design
The main salon is welcoming, featuring large glass wave wall art by Melody Topping, which is backlit with LED lighting, adding a subtle ambiance. The salon's furnishings include custom-built solid teak cabinet doors and drawer faces with Izerwaren latches, ensuring durability and style. Flooring is updated with wool carpet and Soundown barrier padding to minimize noise and vibration, contributing to the overall comfort onboard.
Lighting throughout Moonshot is carefully considered, with Cantalupi LED overhead halogen lights equipped with dimmer controls in the salon, dining areas, and elsewhere, allowing for adjustable illumination levels. Custom automatic window blinds offer privacy and light control, featuring both blackout and bamboo shades.
The dining experience onboard is enhanced by the main deck’s layout, which includes a large galley and dining area offering 180-degree views through the pilothouse windows. The galley is equipped with granite countertops, a tile backsplash, and high-end appliances including a Sub-Zero refrigerator, wine chiller, and Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. The induction cooktop and Miele oven cater to gourmet meal preparation, while the granite bar top with stools invites casual dining. Wood-planked flooring throughout the galley adds warmth and practicality.
The helm station, located in the enclosed flybridge, is outfitted with Furuno navigation and monitoring equipment, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operation. The sky lounge adjacent to the helm offers a comfortable setting for guests with a large L-shaped dinette, day head, and access to the outdoor entertainment area. This space is designed for functionality and ease of use, with LED lighting, granite cabinet tops, and a Sub-Zero under-counter refrigerator..

The VIP stateroom, comparable in size to a second master suite, includes a centerline queen-size walkaround berth with additional storage below. A large L-shaped sofa on the starboard side can be converted into a double bed, offering flexibility for extra guests. The room is equipped with cedar-lined hanging lockers and enjoys ample natural light from two portlights to starboard and one to port. An ensuite head with shower is also part of the VIP stateroom’s amenities.
The guest stateroom is located forward and spans the full beam of the yacht. It features a queen-size island berth with storage underneath. The adjacent area provides two additional crew bunks on the port side, along with storage lockers for personal items.
Performance & Capabilities
Moonshot is powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 1600hp diesel engines, which have undergone recent service to ensure optimal performance. These robust engines allow Moonshot to achieve a maximum speed of 20 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, and an economical speed of 9 knots. At her economical speed, Moonshot boasts an impressive range of approximately 850 nautical miles at 10 knots, with a fuel efficiency that adjusts according to operational speeds—800 nautical miles at 9 knots and 600 nautical miles at 14 knots, factoring in a 10 percent fuel reserve.
The yacht is equipped with ZF 2050a electronic marine reduction gears that incorporate a torsional coupling and vibration dampening system to enhance the smooth operation of the vessel. The propulsion system is further supported by Wesmar hydraulic systems, which are main engine driven. This system operates a range of essential components including dual prop vortex bow and stern thrusters and roll fin stabilizers.
Fuel storage is ample, with a total capacity of 3961 gallons distributed across a day tank and port and starboard tanks. This is complemented by dedicated tanks for new and used oil, ensuring that maintenance is straightforward and efficient. The yacht's stabilizers have been fitted with new shaft seals as of 2022, highlighting the ongoing commitment to maintaining the yacht's mechanical integrity.
Moonshot's engine room is a model of modern yacht engineering, with features such as rubber design soft vibration dampening mounts and stainless steel exhaust risers with custom spray nozzles designed to minimize noise and vibration. These systems work in tandem to ensure that Moonshot's powertrain and exhaust systems deliver the smoothest and quietest performance possible.
Navigation and control are facilitated by Glendinning electronic engine controls located in multiple strategic positions throughout the yacht, including the sky lounge and helm. This is supported by a dual hynautic power-assisted steering system and streamlined rudders, ensuring responsive and precise handling.
Safety and maintenance systems are comprehensive, with features including dual Racor fuel filters for each engine, a Sea recovery 1400 GPD reverse osmosis water maker, and multiple bilge pumps with a high bilge water alarm system. An automatic fire extinguishing system with engine shutdown capabilities adds an extra layer of safety for passengers and crew alike.
