She was delivered to her owners in June 1965.

Exterior Design

Paloma is a true classic, launched in 1965 by Japanese engineering firm Ishikawajima-Harima and constructed in steel to ABS class. Retaining her elegant original lines, she presents a timeless profile that stands out against modern designs. Across her 60.3-metre (197.8-foot) length, Paloma carries the spirit of history and exploration, having crossed the Atlantic an impressive twenty times.

Her exterior spaces are spread generously across three decks, providing a variety of areas for both relaxation and entertaining. The expansive sundeck is a real highlight, fitted with a Jacuzzi offering sweeping panoramic views, now enhanced by a new shaded canopy for added comfort. Steps lead gracefully down to the upper aft deck, which is set with sunpads, loungers and an al fresco dining table.

Further aft on the main deck, guests find another arranged lounging space with additional dining facilities. This area flows naturally into the main saloon, connecting interior and exterior spaces with ease.

Recent upgrades have kept Paloma in superb condition. These include new shaded areas over the middle bridge deck and Jacuzzi, mood lighting around the funnel, new snorkelling gear, a larger floating platform with an access ladder, a rebuilt anchor windlass, and a new med-step boarding ladder with wider steps to make boarding from the water easier. Maintenance has also seen the teak decks sanded, side dodgers and awnings replaced, the funnel painted, and hydraulic systems overhauled.

Exterior improvements between 2022 and 2024 also included upgraded outdoor furniture, external paint repairs, anti-foul and prop speed treatments, ship side valve and fire system overhauls, fresh water system upgrades, and servicing of major components such as the bow thruster and rudder.

Paloma's technical prowess matches her looks. Powered by twin 1,000hp Caterpillar engines, she cruises comfortably at 14 knots and can reach a maximum speed of 16 knots. Her impressive range extends to 4,000 nautical miles at cruising speed, perfectly suited to transatlantic and transpacific crossings. At-anchor stabilisers enhance comfort during longer stays.

Paloma captures the enduring spirit of classic yachting with modern comforts at every turn.

Interior Design

Inside, Paloma offers a warm, understated atmosphere blending her original wood panelling with contemporary English-inspired decor. The interiors are dressed in fine, neutral fabrics, which complement the richness of the woodwork, creating a cosy and inviting setting throughout.

The main saloon is vast, featuring multiple cosy sitting areas, large sofas, small dining tables, bar facilities, an office space, and two televisions. Continuing forward, guests find a more relaxed TV lounge with comfortable seating. Up on the bridge deck, there's another saloon complete with a nautical-themed bar and sofas, adding to the yacht’s character.

Technical upgrades to the interior have kept Paloma aligned with modern expectations. New carpets have been fitted in the guest and crew areas, showers re-tiled, and a new Starlink internet system installed with additional access points to boost performance. New speakers have been added on deck, and the galley has been upgraded with a new cooker and extractor system. The crew areas received extra fridges, freezers, and ice makers, along with improved WiFi coverage, new air handles, additional interior toys and games, and even a karaoke system for entertainment.

Safety has also been enhanced with a high fog system and new smoke detection systems installed throughout all guest areas.

On the bridge, navigational systems have been upgraded, and the yacht now benefits from a new harbour generator installed during the recent refit program.

Accommodation

Paloma accommodates up to 14 guests in a flexible seven-cabin layout.

The main deck houses the owner’s suite, a large, light-filled stateroom offering panoramic views. It features his and hers ensuite bathrooms, finished to a high standard. Also on the main deck is a single staff cabin, a steam shower and additional bathroom facilities.

The lower deck is home to two double staterooms, two twin staterooms, and two single staterooms (which can be converted into twins if required). Each double and twin cabin benefits from its own ensuite bathroom, while the two single cabins share a central ensuite shower room.

Crew accommodation is extensive, reflecting Paloma’s serious cruising capability. In total, she can carry up to 16 crew members. The facilities include seven double crew cabins, one single crew cabin, a captain’s cabin located on the bridge deck, a galley, a laundry room, and two crew mess areas. The bridge deck also features a ship’s office adjacent to the bridge itself.

Performance & Capabilities
