The hull shape of the 32 Sport Fisherman, designed by Jim Wynne to Hatteras' demanding specifications, produces quick planing, flat running and excellent stability.

Its sharp entry and flared bow make for a softer ride in swells and chop... as well as deflect spray down and away.

And as for tracking, the 32 is true. The skeg design is carefully chosen to provide true tracking in turns and quartering seas, yet does not produce speed-reducing drag.

For the ruggedness needed or enjoyable offshore fishing, Hatteras backs up its tough hull with an all fiberglass stringer system of great strength.

It gives added stiffness to the cored fiberglass hull and spread the torque and weight loads of the engines and gears

To produce top speeds, the hull and engines (twin gas or twin diesel) are "matched" at design stage. This means that the hull's shape, structure an weight are selected, from the very beginning to make the best use of the engine's weight an power output.
