German builder Alva Yachts has revealed new images of its flagship electric catamaran, the Ocean Eco 90.
Unveiled last year, initial renderings showcased the exterior of the eco-friendly 27.5m (90ft) Multihull yacht and in particular her aggressive roofline that comes down to the hull and provides space for more than 200 square meters (2152 sq. ft) of solar paneling.
The new renderings illustrate the space offering in her saloon, galley and cabins thanks to her 14m (45.9ft) beam.
The Ocean Eco 90 is available with either hybrid or full-electric propulsion. The full-electric version has two 500-kW units with a 360-kilowatt-hour battery bank, and two 100-kw generators are also on board to also power up the batteries. The hybrid version features two diesel engines and two electric drives.
Alva Yachts claim the eco-friendly design will give the Ocean Eco 90 a ‘virtually unlimited range’ and a top speed of 16 to 18 knots with a cruising speed of 8 to 10 knots. Other highlights of the catamaran include a cosy sky lounge, cocktail bar and a Jacuzzi.
The Ocean Eco 90 has been designed by Henndesign with naval engineering by iYachts and is expected to hit the water late in 2021.
Although only officially founded in 2020 from former company PICA Yachts, Alva Yachts focus on sustainable and super-efficient luxury yachts seems to be paying dividends. Just last month it announced a significant expansion in its global dealers network and it is already sharing its electric technology Volkswagen.
