Sailing yacht SARISSA, an acclaimed vessel with seven awards already under its belt, just added three more from the ISS.
The striking sloop SARISSA, crafted by Royal Huisman, scooped up three prestigious accolades at the ISS Awards in Fort Lauderdale on 30 October. Sarissa, a majestic 59.7m (196ft) high-performance beauty, emerged victorious in the categories of "Yacht of the Year," "Best Interior Sail," and "Best in Sail 40m+".
Respected peers from the superyacht world selected the winners, making these honors particularly significant for the team. SARISSA's success highlights her advanced technology, exceptional naval architecture, and unmatched craftsmanship. The build combines Alustar® aluminum and carbon composites, reducing fuel use while enhancing speed and agility. Her forward-facing retractable propulsion system boosts both performance and comfort, aligning with the owner's commitment to sustainability.
Royal Huisman, Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, interior designer Liaigre, and the owners' representative Gregory Monks collaborated on SARISSA's design. The result is a masterpiece of sleek elegance and functionality, fulfilling the owner's environmentally conscious high-performance brief.
Jan Timmerman, CEO of Royal Huisman, expressed his delight, stating that while the team is "very happy and honored with these awards," they remain committed to progress, emphasizing that "a shipyard is only as good as its next boat."
With SARISSA's other recent wins, including two from the World Superyacht Awards 2024, Royal Huisman’s future endeavors promise to be just as exciting.
