Southampton International Boat Show returns for 2019 edition

One of the UK's biggest yachting events is set to return as the yachting industry turns to one of the busiest ports in England.

Scheduled to run between September 13-22, there's a great deal to look forward to from the show which launched back in 1969.

Preparing to open its doors for the 51st edition, the Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS) will once again be showcasing a wide array of premium nautical products.

Covering yachting, boating, sports, maritime, marine and watersports niches, the English event looks to connect yachting enthusiasts and potential buyers with some of the most highly regarded professionals and industry experts.

Festivities are scheduled throughout the duration of the show, starting off with a star studded launch. Opening up the 2019 edition are rowing champion James Cracknell OBE and well known TV personality Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Various family activities will be dotted around the show including watersports demonstrations and themed activities for the younger visitors.

Mini cruises, paddleboarding and live music are just some of the additional highlights planned for this year's event. 

Attracting thousands of watersports enthusiasts, whether beginners or seasoned professionals, this year's Show offers a fantastic day out for friends and family. There are a host of new features on offer for 2019, setting this global-leading event on course for another fantastic year.

Foredeck Stage

One of the new features being introduced to the Southampton International Boat Show for the 2019 event is the new Foredeck Stage.

Like many other yachting events, the British event will be playing host to a selection of industry experts and professionals to give exclusive talks to visitors. Touching on a range of subjects, the panels will give hints and tips and useful insights in to various aspects of boating.

Names officially announced by the organisers so far include; Max Liberson, Sam Llewellyn, Tom Cunliffe, Rod Heikell and Stokey Woodall.

Discovery Deck

Another new feature worth a mention is the entrance attraction called the Discovery Deck.

Situated at the Show Entrance, the Discovery Deck has a multitude of family friendly activities with plenty of sideshow events througout the duration of the 10 day event.

Examples of what can be found in the new feature are product showcases, lessons in knot tying, boat simulators and useful facts of being more eco-friendly while boating.
