SPITFIRE: Ares Yachts’ Newly Unveiled 50m Superyacht

Drawing inspiration from offshore patrol vessels, the superyacht combines cutting-edge design with advanced hybrid propulsion for high-speed, luxury cruising.

ARES YACHTS has revealed the first glimpse of its latest 50.55m superyacht, SPITFIRE.

Designed for high-speed, transoceanic travel, SPITFIRE combines sleek aesthetics with cutting-edge technology, aiming to set a new benchmark in the industry.

SPITFIRE

The yacht’s design, by Bannenberg & Rowell, features a low-profile superstructure with dark glass and military grey accents, creating a powerful, cohesive look. The wide, rounded bow and open stern emphasize SPITFIRE's functional yet stylish aesthetic.

The builder has also incorporated a vast beach club with fold-down wings and a transformer platform for easy water access. This area can be customized with layouts that include a luxurious lounge, a cinema space, or a fully-equipped gym, all illuminated by natural light from skylights.

Inside, SPITFIRE offers flexible, informal living spaces that can easily transition between open and closed configurations, thanks to sliding glass walls and doors. The main deck features a D-Fac dining room and a Bunker lounge with retractable glass sides, while the upper deck includes a ‘Wardroom’ (a wardrobe room?) with a sunroof and an exterior bar.

The owner's suite occupies the full beam of the main deck, offering a 270-degree view, a private forward cockpit, and a Jacuzzi.

Drawing inspiration from the fast displacement hull of BOLD, an Ares 150 offshore patrol vessel, SPITFIRE boasts a maximum speed of 22 knots and a cruising range of up to 3,500nm with optional tankage. Furthermore, the yacht’s hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system allows for silent cruising or overnight stays, with an optional battery package extending emission-free operation up to 11 hours.

Combining a hull with offshore pedigree and the specifications of a superyacht platform opens up thrilling possibilities from both design and technical standpoints. We have used an advanced hull form for both performance and superyacht levels of seakeeping.
