Which yacht is best for you? As always, it’s all about personal choice. Some people choose a yacht on its characteristics (incidentally the 40M has won a staggering 3 awards, most recently for "Best Worldwide Semi Custom Built Yacht (25m and above)"). Some people choose their yacht based on its power credentials and the semi-displacement hull of the 40M delivers speeds of up to 23 knots. Some may even choose their yacht based upon features such as: 20-knot performance, five or six cabin layout plus separate crew quarters, waterside terrace, with fold-out platform, main salon balconies and tri-deck design.
If your priority is guest accommodation then the Princess 40M offers well-appointed accommodation for up to 12 guests with its 6 cabin layout option. The 40M benefits from a full-beam master cabin with an en-suite bathroom, a his and hers dressing room and a study is a standout and all cabins have dedicated en-suite bathrooms for family or guest convenience. The Sunseeker 40M and Horizon P130, although designed for slightly smaller groups of 12 guests in 5 cabins, still offer an exceptional level of comfort for family or group getaways.
In terms of cruising performance, the Princess 40M leads the way with an impressive cruising speed of 20 knots thanks to its twin 3,460hp MTU 12V 4000 M93L engines and maximum speed of 23 knots at 2,100rpm. Closely followed by, the Sunseeker 40M with a respectable cruising speed of 20 knots. The Sunseeker 131 also impresses with a cruising speed of 18 knots. On the other hand, for those not in a hurry the Horizon P130, with the slowest cruising speed of 11 knots, emphasizes stability and comfort over outright speed and enjoying the journey over the destination.
Each yacht also brings unique features to the forefront. The Horizon P130 impresses with its extensive range of 4,606 nautical miles, ideal for long voyages. The shallow draft of the Westport Yachts W135 allows it to navigate waters inaccessible to deeper vessels. The performance of the Sunseeker 40M is especially impressive, with a top speed of 25 knots and cruising speed of 20 knots. The Mangusta 43 has an impressive gross tonnage of 450GT, the largest of the competitors here.
Despite stiff competition, the Princess 40M stands out with notable features and design elements. These yachts cater to a wide range of preferences and needs, making the choice a matter of personal taste and specific requirements in the world of luxury yachting.
