On Deck

The boat's exterior design is admired along with the boat's features, starting with the hi-lo bathing platform on the back. There is access here to a large garage at the back. Attached to the front of the garage is a seat that opens up, providing a lovely beach club area at water level.

The yacht also includes a sun pad located on top of the garage and a spacious eating area with a big solid table. The cockpit features a wet bar, complete with a barbecue, sink, and an icemaker located in the fridge.

On a different day, Nick gets a chance to see the yacht in its fully open mode, which includes a big sunshade at the back and an open window and door that connect the interior and exterior spaces. He also points out the difference between the gloss and satin finish in the owner's cabin, appreciating both styles.

Interior

Walking into the saloon, a well-crafted table can be seen which can be easily adjusted to serve as a dining area or coffee tables. The galley is located at the side of the boat, which includes a bar area, large fridges, cooking equipment, and a sink. There is an option for the galley to be located on the lower deck, offering more space on the lower deck and easier catering.

The yacht also features huge glass areas above and a one-piece windscreen in front. The helm seats are very classy and in front are triple display screens on the dashboard. Moving to the lower deck, which includes a spacious lobby area, a wine cooler, a small fridge, and multiple cabin options.

The master cabin has a classy high-gloss wood finish and subtle lighting. The master cabin also features built-in air conditioning vents and a well-finished ensuite. He also likes the tactile door handles and the yacht's design features like the shaped handrail.

Crew Accommodation

Also noted in the tour is a crew cabin, however this could not be shown as it was being used as storage during the boat shows.

Performance

The engine room is well-lit and equipped with 2,300 horsepower Caterpillar C18 engines.  These can give the yacht a speed of just over 30 knots.

In Summary

Nick finds the Fairline Targa 65 GTO to be a cool-looking, sleek, and stylish yacht with great accommodation options. He appreciates the flexibility of the layout and the subtle finishing touches that add to its class.
