On Deck

Nick appreciated the sturdy look of the boat that is truly Nordhavn, the overhangs, and the color scheme. The bathing platform on the back had removable bars which were found convenient.

Moving on to the cockpit via a transom door, this area is open to allow for freestanding furniture. The boat also had a spacious fore and upper deck area accessed using wide side decks and waist-high rails, making it safe and easy to move around.

Interior

The interior finish is a warm walnut wood with white furnishings and countertops.  The galley has a large fridge freezer, 4-burner hob, sink and plenty of storage.  The helm is just ahead of the galley with classic forward sloping windscreens and extensive controls.

Nick was particularly impressed with the boat's detailed handbook which contained a comprehensive guide to every single bit of wiring and plumbing on the boat. This is crucial for long-distance and fully autonomous cruising as it allowed for easy access and understanding of the boat's workings no matter where in the world the boat was.

In the utility area, there is a freezer and a washing machine, both of which are brilliant additions for a 41-foot boat.

The boat offered two layout options, a single cabin or a twin cabin. This one has the twin cabin model, which included a master cabin and a second cabin with twin beds. The second cabin's bed, also functions as a little settee, providing additional living space. The boat also featured a single head with a sink, toilet, and separate shower area.

Performance

The Nordhavn N41 features twin Beta Marine engines, which offer about 10 knots at full speed and a cruising speed of around 7.5 knots will reach a range of 2,700 nm. The boat's fuel tanks were located outside the engines and fed the day tank, which was equipped with a fuel polishing system to ensure clean fuel supply.

The boat also offered a lot of redundancy, including fuel filters that could be switched in case of a blockage. Nick found the engine room fantastic for a 41-foot boat, with everything neatly marked and easy to reach. The completely mechanical engines and the fuel polishing system were designed to ensure that the boat could keep going no matter what.

In Summary

Nick was highly impressed with the Nordhavn N41, describing it as a proper classic Nordhavn despite being the smallest in the range. He appreciated the boat's design, features, and redundancy measures, clearly showing that it was built for long-distance and autonomous cruising.
