On Deck

On board there is a hi-lo platform where a rib can be stored and launched, shore power plugs, hot water showers, and a spacious cockpit with its folding table. Appreciated details are storage areas, stainless steel work, and wide-opening doors.

The flybridge has a brilliant layout with ample seating for dining and entertaining, even whilst at the helm.  He highlights the small fridge next to the helm, bow and stern thrusters for ease of use.  Behind the helm is a wet bar, with BBQ and sink.

Interior

Nick then moves to the galley, which he notes is one of the first Princesses to have an aft layout. This layout allows for the catering to become part of the entertaining. The galley includes electric cooking facilities, storage options, and dedicated spaces for glasses and crockery.

The saloon area is appreciated as the raised design provides an excellent view out of the windows and headroom for the owner's cabin below. This is a dual-purpose area which can be used as a lounge and a dining room, with an electric hi-lo table that can be adjusted for different purposes.

The lower helm has twin helm seats, Raymarine hybrid touch multi-function display, and the autopilot, bow and stern thrusters. Nick appreciates the ventilation provided by the sliding doors and opening windows, and the aesthetic appeal of the area.

Nick then takes us to the VIP guest cabin, highlighting the dressing area, big windows, storage spaces, and air conditioning controls. He appreciates the ensuite access to the day heads, and the third cabin with side-by-side single beds. He praises the boat for its well-proportioned design with three good cabins, two heads, but still being of a manageable size.

The owner's cabin has great headroom and a flat floor, noting that it feels like a cabin from a bigger boat. He then showcases the storage area and the distribution board with 24-volt and 240-volt controls.

Performance

Nick also points out the generator, battery boxes, and the air conditioning units in the engine room, praising the labeling and sound deadening for its quiet operation. The Princess 52 has a pair of Volva Pentas D11-725, giving a top speed of over 30 knots, cruising at 20-25 knots. Cruising at 22 knots will give a range near to 300 nautical miles, at an economic speed of 9 knots gives a range of 800 nautical miles.

In Summary

Overall, Nick seems thoroughly impressed by the Princess 52, appreciating its design, spaciousness, and attention to detail.
