On Deck

Pointed out was a sports cruiser concept at the back of the boat, which has a hi-lo platform and a big storage area under the sun pad for a Williams 325 jet rib. There is twin-tone upholstery and a silver finish on the GRP, which was found to be very classy. The boat's cockpit area is connected to the inside through a lifting window and opening door - a good feature.

Nick was impressed with the teak decks and the seating area at the front of the boat, along with a sunbathing area. The flybridge, was found interesting and useful, offers seating, a bar area, and a sun pad.

Interior

Inside, the boat has a classic galley with a full-height fridge freezer, a washer, and a proper dinette area, making it very practical. The saloon is separate and has deep comfortable seats facing a massive TV that can be retracted to offer a view from large windows. There is also a separate drinks fridge, an icemaker, and storage for bottles and glasses.

The helm features an opening roof section, a feature typical of sports cruisers but not usually found on flybridge boats. This area is ideal for cruising at high speeds, thanks to the boat's propeller-driven design. The helm has a full glass cockpit with all engine instruments displayed on screens.

Touring the lower accommodation, the not-too-steep steps and a clear distribution panel were appreciated. The front of the boat has a VIP guest cabin with ample storage and ensuite access to the day heads. A third cabin also has access to the day heads. The owner's cabin is spacious and full-beam with big windows, plenty of storage, and an ensuite. The cabin lighting and the soft-close drawers were appreciated features.

Crew Accommodation

A final surprise was a small crew cabin which is accessed from the cockpit area with an adult-sized bed and a separate ensuite, which he found to be an interesting feature for a boat of this size.

Performance

The boat's engine room houses Man V8 turbo diesel engines, each with 1,200 horsepower, capable of speeds up to 38 knots. There is excellent lighting and sound deadening in the engine room. A surprising feature was the full-height headroom in the engine room, making it a very workable area.

In Summary

Overall, Nick was quite pleased with the Princess S60, finding it a fascinating blend of sports cruiser style and practicality.
