On Deck

The C44 by Sessa Marine is built in Italy and has a sleek, low-profile design that sets it apart from other sports boats like the Fairline. The styling includes a raised deck and streamlined lines. The cockpit is unusually spacious, especially on models without the garage. These have a hi-lo platform at the stern capable of lifting 400kg, suitable for a jet rib. If a garage is fitted, the platform becomes a sunbed, and the cockpit size is reduced.

Without the garage, there’s much more space for entertaining. The cockpit features a large table on a high-low leg that can convert into a sunbed. A bimini is fitted, with zips allowing it to be fully enclosed for poor weather.

Forward of the cockpit is a wet bar with a two-burner hob, sink, fridge, bin, and storage. The seating area opposite includes another folding table for dining.

The decks feature handrails and a walkthrough to the bow, where there’s another sunbathing area. The bow also has fender holders that fold down for use or up when not needed. The electric anchor winch, cleats, fairleads, and anchor roller are fitted forward. 

The interior avoids carpet in favour of clean-lined hard flooring. The saloon features a dinette that converts to a sleeping area using an in-fill cushion. Switchgear for AC and DC systems is hidden behind panels. There’s storage throughout, and the stereo is built into cabinetry. A large overhead hatch brings in light and ventilation.

The galley has a brushed stainless sink, a rare four-burner hob for this class, fridge, drawers, bin storage, microwave, and upper cabinets for plates. An extractor fan is also fitted. A TV is mounted for evening viewing.

Italian design cues include contrast stitching on upholstery, metallic paint finishes with carbon effect accents, and striped flooring that runs crosswise rather than lengthways, creating a distinctive look.

Owner's Cabin

The owner’s cabin is located aft and benefits from a decent size despite the boat’s low profile. Headroom is slightly reduced on one side due to the cockpit above, but still usable. The cabin includes hull windows with opening sections, a wall-mounted TV, stereo, reading lights, and both shelving and hanging storage.

The ensuite features a toilet, sink, and a separate shower area enclosed by a Perspex door.

Guest Accommodation

The forward guest cabin has scissor berths that can be configured as two singles or slid together into a double. It includes a wardrobe, upper storage lockers, a hatch for ventilation, hull windows with opening sections, reading lights, and a TV.

This cabin connects to the day head, which has dual access. The head includes a toilet, sink, and a curtained-off shower area.

Access to the engine room is through a hatch in the cockpit. The boat runs on twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines (435 hp each), delivering a top speed of 36-37 knots and a comfortable cruising speed in the high 20s. Estimated range is around 250 nautical miles at fast cruising speed.

The engine space includes fuel tanks on both sides, a bulkhead-mounted electronics panel, battery switches, and other easily accessible systems.

The Sessa Marine C44 is a low-profile, stylish sports cruiser with a distinctive Italian flair. It offers a spacious cockpit, clever deck design, and a functional, contemporary interior. Both owner and guest cabins are practical and comfortable, with ensuite facilities and flexible layouts. The IPS propulsion system provides strong performance with responsive handling. Overall, it's a fast, versatile cruiser well suited for entertaining and weekend cruising.
