On Deck

Particularly impressive is the yacht's unique combination of a deck saloon and a tender garage, which is not commonly found in other models. The tender garage, specifically designed to accommodate a Williams mini jet 280, is a feature for functionality and convenience.

The yacht has a versatile cockpit area, which can be extended into a sunbathing area by adjusting the backrest forward. Further enhancing the outdoor space is a wet bar with a grill, a nice feature. The key difference between the GT and the open version is the inclusion of doors that separate the saloon area from the cockpit. However, Nick commends Fairline for designing it in a way that still links the areas seamlessly.

The tour continues on the foredeck accessed via the sidedecks where Nick points out the large solid sliding roof, anchor winch, and sunbathing area. Also mentioned is the sunroof/hatch to the forward cabin located here.

Interior

Inside, the GT version features a solid sliding roof composed of glass panels, another divergence from the open version's fabric roof. This modification is appreciated as it makes the interior more weather-resistant. Other highlights include a hi-lo TV and a helm positioned in front of it.

Below deck, Nick notes the similarity to the open version with the inclusion of a dinette, but points out the added flexibility of converting the space into a bunk bed third cabin, an option that could be appealing for larger families. The high-gloss woodwork and concealed TV in the forward cabin are admired, and the en-suite access to the day head from the cabin is noted.

The master cabin, with its offset bed and large windows is impressive. He mentions the abundance of storage space, the good headroom, and the en-suite bathroom. Also mentioned is the option to have a dinette, but he thinks the third cabin option is particularly appealing for larger families.

Performance

The engine space, accessible from the back, houses twin Volvo Penta IPS-600 engines, which he notes are capable of propelling the yacht to speeds of around 30 to 33 knots. Although the tender garage compromises the accessibility of the engine space, Fairline has incorporated access from the floor of the tender garage to help with this.

In Summary

Overall, Nick is highly impressed with the Fairline Targa 45 GT, praising its innovative design, particularly the inclusion of a tender garage and deck saloon. He believes the yacht's versatility and family-friendly options make it an excellent choice.
