Established in 1995, the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS) has made its home in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Since its first edition, CIBS has been known for exhibiting a broad range of ideas, concepts, and models, offering the local yachting community one of the best opportunities to view the latest yachts for sale from the world's leading brands and gain invaluable knowledge through an invigorating program of lectures and conferences.
Based over three days, the long-established event covers an admirable exhibition area of 40,000 square meters, which is covered in a curated collection of over 400 exhibitors and 150 different activities.
What to expect at the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show
Moving away from the facts and figures, CIBS covers every aspect of the nautical adventure with exhibitors from all over the world showcasing the best products available on the market.
Niches included in the vast display include services, watersports, accessories, equipment, real estate, and of course boats. Models on display vary immensely with tenders, flybridge yachts, superyacht concepts, and trawlers being just some examples.
Organized by Sinoexpo Informa Markets, the boat show hosts a range of activities to fully immerse visitors into the experience. Watersports demonstrations are high-flying with flyboarding and wakeboarding on offer, as well as an intensive schedule of around 20 conferences during the three days, covering every possible element of yachting and buying advice, plus the relevant ideas based on lifestyle and exploration.
One show, seven exhibits
In addition to the impressive collection of yachts for sale, CIBS has strived to become an all-under-one-roof event, with all areas catered to for a complete yachting lifestyle package.
Clearly zoned and organized throughout the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, visitors to the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show can navigate through six other exhibits which are;
- Watersports

- Homestay tourism
- Outdoor Sports
- Amusement Equipment
Matchmaking clients across the seas
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021, not even a global pandemic stood between visitors and the Shanghai-based event, thanks to the matchmaking program.
Executed to perfection, the matchmaking concept enabled prospect buyers to connect with the relevant individuals at the show to discuss models and purchases. With travel restrictions still very much in play, the idea meant that those unable to get to the show still had the opportunity to be a part of it and make their desired purchases even from abroad.
