Six is a tricky number in yachting. A three-cabin yacht is available at around 15m (50ft), this will provide six berths. This set up means two people sharing each cabin, the third cabin being quite tight at 15m, but more spacious as you hit 17m (55ft) or more.
If you want to a separate cabin for at least two of the guests you need four cabins. This requires a big step up in size, to around 20m (65ft). This not only requires significantly more money, but also takes you close to crewed yacht territory, adding yet more expense and changing the entire nature of ownership. A 15m boat is far easier to handle than a 20m one.
But there are options. For instance, there are plenty of three-cabin yachts with a small, optional fourth aft cabin. This might be enough for a younger guest, leaving a main cabin free for single occupancy.
Any of these yacht sizes should be enough to deliver the social space and on-water ability you need, just make sure you can get six people around the interior and deck dining areas.
This will depend on the yacht itself and the speed it is designed to run at. A fast planing yacht might be able to cover some 300-400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 20-25 knots. If this yacht were to run at only 10 knots, its range would increase greatly, but the planing hull is not designed to run at this speed and so the ride may be less stable, without stabilisers.
A displacement yacht, designed to travel slowly and efficiently, cruising at 9 knots might have a range of over a 1000nm.
