cruiser boat FAQ

We're committed to making yacht buying easier, so if you can't find what you're looking for just ask.

  • Very little, they are effectively just different names for contemporary cruisers with an enclosed salon and driving position.  If there is one possible defining factor it is that coupes tend to be fast while sedans can be slower paced.

  • The short answer is build costs. To fit out an aft cabin costs more time and money, which creates a more expensive yacht when compared to a typical flybridge yacht. This, coupled with the popularity for aft cockpit living and the development of ever-better forward accommodation areas on flybridge and sports yachts slowly saw a decline in popularity. Aft cabin design is still popular with builders of inland craft.

  • Flybridge yachts have enjoyed a huge amount of design and performance progression over the last 30 years, creating ever more exciting and accommodating yachts. By comparison, cruisers have been a little more pedestrian. However, we are now seeing a new generation of cruisers offering speed, more progressive style, and the kind of onboard innovation that puts other yachts in the shade.
