The 47.3m motor yacht Ancora was delivered to her owners in 2023 by Mengi-Yay. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by VYD Studio, while her interiors are the work of Red Yacht Design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 2.8m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 496 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the third yacht built on the Virtus 47M design. Launched in September 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in October 2023.

Exterior Design

Ancora's exterior design includes a functional aft deck seating area with overhead shade, providing comfort for guests. The side deck is equipped with a fold-down terrace, adding extra space and versatility. 

At the rear, the transom can fold down or sit flush for a streamlined appearance. The swim platform is practical, with a built-in shower and additional fold-out terrace, enhancing usability. She also features a beach club area with teak-lined walls that fold out to open the space further.

The upper decks offer multiple seating areas and high-gloss tables. Notably, the bridge deck includes a vantage point with a railing, providing a clear view from the front. The sundeck is spacious, with freestanding loungers, a hardtop in the middle, a jacuzzi, and extensive seating. The built-in bar chairs and adjacent bar area are designed for convenience and social gatherings.

Interior Design

The interior design of Ancora is defined by its use of high-quality materials and functional spaces. The main salon features floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, offering abundant natural light and expansive views. The room is appointed with high-end materials, including stone columns and accent walls, which contribute to a refined atmosphere.

Forward of the main salon is the formal dining area. This space is highlighted by carefully selected artwork and a fold-out terrace that allows for a cross breeze when opened. The dining area is designed for both comfort and style, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

The galley is equipped with modern appliances and ample storage. It includes a prep area adjacent to the dining room, facilitating efficient meal preparation. The crew mess and laundry room are also conveniently located nearby, ensuring smooth operations. The helm, located on the bridge deck, includes side access doors for easy navigation and movement. The captain’s cabin is situated just behind the helm, featuring a small office space for operational planning.

The Sky Lounge on the bridge deck is another key feature. It includes a bar area connected to a stew pantry, enhancing the functionality of the space. The lounge is designed for relaxation and socialization, with ample seating and wine storage.

Accommodation

Ancora offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in a total of five cabins. Located in a prime position, the owner's suite offers a spacious area complete with a desk space and an expansive window that allows for breathtaking views. The suite includes a walk-in closet and an en suite bathroom featuring double vanities, a jetted tub, and a rainfall shower. Additionally, the owner’s suite boasts a private terrace, providing a unique outdoor space for relaxation.

Ancora includes four guest cabins located on the lower level. Two of these cabins are convertible, meaning the beds can either be pushed together or separated to suit the guests' preferences. Each cabin is thoughtfully designed with unique headboards and color palettes, and all are equipped with TVs and extensive closet space. The en suite bathrooms in each cabin feature double vanities and walk-in showers with rainfall attachments.

The two VIP cabins, also on the lower level, offer ample space and luxurious amenities. Each VIP cabin includes a dressing table, automatic lighting in the closets, and an en suite bathroom.

Ancora is designed to accommodate a professional crew of nine. Crew quarters include a crew mess, laundry room, and individual cabins located along the hull. The captain's cabin is conveniently situated behind the bridge and includes a small office space.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32) 1,450hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Ancora is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 50,800 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,100 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
