The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
BEAUPORT features a blue hull with a white superstructure and a canoe stern. At 169 feet (52 meters) in length, her design combines functionality and aesthetics. Originally built in 1960, her sturdy steel hull was designed for light icebreaking, ensuring safety and durability in various conditions.
The yacht has three exterior decks, providing ample outdoor space for dining, relaxation, and taking in the views. A helipad is available for easy transfers to remote destinations. The large tenders and storage for watersports equipment make it easy to explore and enjoy recreational activities.
The exterior design is practical and robust, reflecting her origins as a Canadian Coast Guard vessel. The 2023 refit included significant overhauls to her twin Fairbanks Morse Opposed Piston diesel engines and upgrades to her John Deere generators, enhancing her performance and efficiency.
BEAUPORT's Koopnautic stabilizers improve the comfort of the journey, ensuring a smooth ride in various sea conditions. The bronze-framed windows in the skylounge and the teak and holly sole add a touch of classic style to the exterior areas.
Interior Design
The interior design of BEAUPORT prioritizes functionality and comfort. The main saloon, created during the 1993 rebuild, occupies the space of three previously separated cabins. This area now features a conference section and an entertainment center, complete with a large Mitsubishi television screen. The paneling and joinery throughout this space are made of stained cherry wood, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere.
To starboard, the main dining saloon accommodates up to 12 guests. It includes two large wine racks and built-in china and glass cupboards on the aft bulkhead. The dining area is designed for convenience and practicality, ensuring all necessary items are within easy reach.
Aft of the pilot house, guests will find the fully air-conditioned skylounge. This area is outfitted with large bronze-framed windows and a teak and holly sole, offering a durable yet refined floor surface. A wet bar and fridge are positioned to starboard, providing easy access to refreshments.
The interior was remodeled in the summer of 2000 to enhance the yacht’s practicality and comfort. Large rectangular windows were installed, replacing four of the five original portlights. This modification ensures ample natural light throughout the interior spaces.
