Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and superstructure she features a 11.8m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,637 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.

Construction started in late 1978. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in April 1980.

Exterior Design

The main deck aft provides shaded seating areas, conducive for relaxation and conversation. Progressing upwards, the bridge deck aft continues the theme of casual comfort with additional seating arrangements. The sun deck is particularly noteworthy, with two side-by-side Jacuzzis, a bar, and a selection of sun loungers designed for guests to fully enjoy the sun-drenched surroundings.

A notable feature of the upper aft deck is its versatility, with loose furnishings that can be reconfigured or removed to reveal a practical touch-and-go helipad. This multi-purpose space demonstrates a keen understanding of the needs of a luxury yacht, ensuring that both leisure and functional aspects are well catered for.

The yacht's exterior also includes a well-conceived beach club at the stern, which provides an effortless transition from the interior spaces to the sea. This area enhances the onboard experience by offering an inviting platform for swimming and water activities without compromising the vessel's original design intent.

Storage for the yacht's tenders is thoughtfully planned, with a new garage on the lower deck housing two of the four tenders, while the remaining two are located on the forward deck. This strategic arrangement ensures that the tenders are readily accessible while maintaining the yacht's sleek appearance.

Bleu De Nimes is designed with practicality and understated style in mind, ensuring that every aspect is in service of the guest experience while honoring the vessel's heritage.

Interior Design

The interior design of Bleu De Nimes is distinguished by its colonial-style decor, which favors the warmth and richness of American cherry wood. This choice of wood is consistent throughout the vessel, showcased in its fine joinery, complementing the iroko wood floors. Black-veined marble adds contrast and a touch of sophistication to the yacht's overall aesthetic, ensuring that the new areas on board maintain a cohesive look with the original design.

Guests have access to multiple indoor lounges, including a significantly expanded main saloon, which provides a spacious setting for relaxation and socializing. Smaller lounges located forward on the main deck offer more private areas for guests seeking a retreat from the larger group activities.

The yacht features a lift that facilitates effortless movement between the lower and sundeck levels, eliminating the inconvenience of navigating steep staircases. This accessibility feature is complemented by a well-designed grand staircase, which serves as both a practical and an elegant architectural element within the yacht's interior structure.

For dining, the upper deck is equipped with a secondary galley, supporting the efficient service of meals to guests. This is particularly useful when hosting larger gatherings, as it allows for smooth operation and flow during dining experiences, whether held indoors or al fresco.

A dedicated TV lounge room, games area, cocktail bar, and sky lounge are spread across the four decks, providing ample choice for entertainment and leisure. These facilities are attentively managed by the crew, who are stationed on board to ensure that every need is met with professionalism and a high level of service.

Accommodation

Bleu De Nimes offers an impressive accommodation setup designed to cater to a significant number of guests, ensuring comfort and privacy throughout their stay. The yacht can accommodate up to 36 guests for an overnight journey, housed within 13 refined cabins.

The upper deck is reserved for the Master Suite, an expansive space featuring an emperor-size bed and dual bathrooms, a walk-in closet, a private study, and a lounge area. This suite provides the utmost in privacy and comfort, making it an ideal retreat for the owner.

On the main deck, guests will find two VIP suites that have been thoughtfully added during the yacht's rebuild. These suites offer additional luxury and convenience for guests, positioned conveniently on the same deck as the main saloon and lounges.

The lower deck has been reconfigured to include a variety of cabin arrangements to accommodate a diverse array of guest requirements. In total, there are six double cabins, two triple cabins, and two twin cabins, all designed to provide a comfortable and restful environment after a day of maritime activities.

To ensure that all guests are served with the highest level of attention and service, Bleu De Nimes has the capacity to house a crew of 23 members.
