Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.2m beam and a 4m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,876 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in September 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
The exterior of Nautilus is characterized by its long, sleek lines and balanced proportions. The plumb bow and wide beam contribute to the vessel's strong seakeeping and spacious interior.
Nautilus features a flush deck forward, housing a garage that accommodates two tenders, efficiently integrating storage solutions with clean design. The wraparound decks facilitate effortless movement around the yacht, reflecting a thoughtful approach to the layout that encourages an indoor-outdoor living experience.
The aft deck of Nautilus presents a cocktail bar and outdoor seating area, designed for social gatherings or moments of quiet reflection. The exercise pool is integrated into the deck, providing a space for relaxation or fitness activities.
Interior Design
The primary materials defining the interior are a combination of calming neutrals, such as white, cream, and blue hues that harmonize with the yacht's exterior lines. These colors are strategically chosen to evoke a sense of tranquility and continuity between the yacht's internal and external environments.
At the heart of the master cabin's aesthetic is a carefully curated selection of artwork, reflecting the personal tastes of the owners. The use of pale blue and aqua accents further enhances the soothing atmosphere, complementing the yacht's connection with the sea.
The study area within the master suite is another space that benefits from the abundant natural light, thanks to large windows. It features a sofa and armchair that echo the color palette found throughout the yacht, providing a conducive environment for work or relaxation.
Within the main salon, a dining table presents adaptable configurations to accommodate various group sizes, with the capacity to serve up to 16 guests. The integration of leather carpets, onyx, polished stainless steel, and palladium leaf on the ceilings contributes to the contemporary ambiance onboard. Custom-designed backlit coffee tables add to the modern and inviting atmosphere of the salon.
Nautilus also boasts an Oculus entertainment system, enabling guests to engage interactively with their journey, tracking the yacht's position and accessing real-time footage from multiple onboard cameras.
Nautilus is equipped with a central lift connecting all decks. This lift features a visually striking gold thread laminated between sheets of glass, an innovative design choice that allows natural light to permeate the yacht's communal areas without compromising visibility.
Accommodation
Nautilus offers seven suites that cater to the highest standards of comfort and privacy for its 12 guests.
The master suite is adorned with carefully selected artwork that reflects the owners' personal taste, while the color palette of white, cream, and blue tones echoes the yacht's sleek exterior design. The expansive bathroom is equipped with dual showers and sinks, flanked by a substantial solid limestone bath, creating a sanctuary for relaxation and privacy. The master cabin also includes a cozy study area with generous windows that invite natural light to illuminate the space. The use of a sofa and armchair within this area complements the artwork and maximizes the bright, open feel.
Beyond the master suite, Nautilus provides additional accommodations for guests in two ensuite cabins situated aft of the owner's cabin. These cabins, too, benefit from the ample natural light that streams through the sizeable windows. To cater to diverse guest needs, especially for families, the lower deck houses four more cabins—two twins and two doubles. These rooms offer the flexibility to convert into suites via a connecting door, thereby creating a double and twin configuration ideal for families traveling with children.
Nautilus ensures that crew members are also provided with comfortable living quarters. The crew area spans two decks, with the majority of cabins located on the lower deck. The captain's quarters are positioned adjacent to the pilothouse for ease of access and command efficiency. Reflecting inspiration from Rolls-Royce, the crew lounge extends over 70 square meters and features luxurious leather banquettes and a well-appointed bridge by Radio Zeeland. The design prioritizes both style and functionality, ensuring that the crew can perform their duties in an environment that enhances their well-being.
