Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.1m beam and a 3.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 530 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of The Mercy Boys features a raked bow, contributing to its sleek and streamlined appearance. The hull is painted in a deep blue, providing a classic maritime look that contrasts sharply with the white superstructure. The yacht’s deck is constructed from teak, a durable and traditional material known for its resilience and aesthetic appeal. Above the waterline, the boot top is painted white, while below the waterline, the hull is coated in black.
The bridge deck offers a more relaxed living and dining area that opens aft through wide doors to a shaded deck. This deck includes a large alfresco dining table and comfortable seating around the edge, making it suitable for both dining and lounging.
The sun deck is designed for versatility and leisure. It includes a bar that is often used for meals, a spa pool, sun loungers, and large cushioned areas. The forward observation area, covered by parasols, provides additional space for dining or relaxation on comfortable banquettes.
Interior Design
The materials used throughout the interior are carefully chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal. The yacht is paneled in limed oak, providing a consistent and elegant appearance. This woodwork extends from the entrance hall to the dining saloon, creating a cohesive visual flow.
The galley is equipped with commercial-standard Zanussi appliances, ensuring that meal preparation is efficient and meets high standards. It includes a large freezer room and cold store, capable of supporting extended cruises. The galley has its own exit to the main deck port side passageway, keeping it separate from guest areas, although it also connects directly to the entrance lobby for convenience.
The discotheque lounge at the stern is a unique feature, doubling as a nightclub, cinema, or gymnasium. Its direct access to the bathing platform makes it suitable for cocktail receptions and parties. The adjacent dining room can be integrated with the lounge by opening sliding doors, providing a larger space for social events.
The upper saloon, the most popular gathering area, is light and airy with off-white seating and panoramic windows. It includes sliding glass doors that open to the aft deck dining and lounging area. This saloon is equipped with a card table, bar, stereo system, and a large screen projection TV.
Accommodation
The Mercy Boys offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in five suites. The spacious owner's suite is located on the main deck and spans the full beam amidships. It includes a separate en suite bathroom, a dressing room, and a study, providing a comfortable and private retreat for the owner.
These include two double cabins and two twin cabins, each with Pullman berths. This arrangement ensures that all guests have ample space and privacy during their stay.
The crew of 11 is accommodated in two-deck crew quarters, ensuring efficient and discreet service throughout the yacht. The captain has a separate cabin located aft of the bridge, facilitating easy access to the bridge and operational areas.
