From The Manufacturer

The performance of the 42 is entirely predictable and hides no surprises. It tracks with no effort on the wheel, the long straight underwater design keeps it on course and the motion is easy.

The Hatteras happily cruises between 6 and 9.5 knots. The dual rudders are moved by Morse controls and assisted by a Hynautic hydraulic steering device, resulting in the most effortless handling.

Beauty takes many forms and fashions. An offshore racer has to be long and low and mean ,but a long range cruiser should be graceful and functional - it should like a boat which is built to do a job. In all respects the Hatteras 43 looks like a proper "trawler" type.
