When you take the helm of this Hatteras 53 Convertible and head out to the open sea you'll thrill to its smooth powerful, easy behaviour in any weather.

Beam is a full 16 feet. This 53 is probably the finest production built sport fishing boast. Already available feed-back from owners proclaim its virtues. This yacht is extremely seaworthy and can take heavy seas very well. Owners report excellent performance in severe rough water conditions. Twin diesel engines each to 500 HP, fit into the spacious engine room.

The large bridge has the helm stationed far enough aft so that the fishing captain can look directly down into the cockpit - can observe the angler's activity with ease.

It has a complete command station and also comfortable seats so the skipper can have some sun-loving companions.

The cockpit is 13 ft. 3 in. wide by 11 ft. 2 in. Shown in the photograph is the lower control station and the optional refrigerated bait and tackle box. There's room for two sailfish chairs in addition to the fighting chair. There's room for working in the cockpit. Also, note on the starboard side of the transom is an optional gate so that you can float a big fish into the cockpit.

With the galley below, the deckhouse is extremely large - 11ft 8in. from window to window (port to starboard) and 18 ft. from aft bulkhead to center of windshield. There's over 100 sq. ft. of window area for all-around viewing and light. On the sides are sliding windows with screens.

The master stateroom has two for-and-aft 6 ft. 6 in. bunks with comfortable foam mattresses. There is 39.4 cu. ft. of storage space in a hanging locker and eight drawers.

The paneling in our 53's salon is another example of our attention to detail. It's rare wood, selected by the trained eye of a Hatteras ship-wright.
