Horizon PC65 Rivals

Which yacht is best for you? As always, it’s all about personal choice.

Accommodation

If accommodating guests overnight is your main concern, then the Horizon PC65 which offers well-appointed accommodation for up to 8 guests with its 4 cabin layout option does not match its rivals. Many of its competitors including the Sunreef Yachts 68 Power offer slightly more guest accommodation sleeping up to 12 guests in 6 cabins, making them better choices for those seeking to maximise the number of family and friends they can sleep onboard. However, for maximum comfort for the owner, the PC65 features a full-beam master cabin with an en-suite bathroom and a dressing room and all cabins have dedicated en-suite bathrooms for family or guest convenience. Equivalently, the Horizon PC74 and Horizon PC60 also offer 4 cabins, but with facilities for 8 guests, however they still offer an exceptional level of comfort for family vacations.

Performance

In terms of cruising performance, the Horizon PC65 leads the way with an impressive cruising speed of 25 knots thanks to its twin 838hp Caterpillar C12.9 E01 engines and maximum speed of 26 knots at 2,300rpm. Closely followed by, the Sunreef Yachts 75 Sunreef Power Sportfish with a respectable cruising speed of knots. The Sunreef Yachts 68 Power also impresses with a cruising speed of 10 knots. On the other hand, for those not in a hurry the Prestige M8, with the slowest cruising speed of 15 knots, emphasizes stability and comfort over outright speed and enjoying the journey over the destination.

Unique Characteristics

Each yacht also brings unique features to the forefront. The Horizon PC74 impresses with its extensive range of 1,090 nautical miles, ideal for long voyages. The shallow draft of the Sunreef Yachts 68 Power allows it to navigate waters inaccessible to deeper vessels. The Horizon PC74 focuses on performance and efficiency, with a cruising speed of 20 knots. Meanwhile, the Sunreef Yachts 75 Sunreef Power Sportfish offers the best raw performance, with a maximum speed of 30 knots.

Summary

Despite stiff competition, the Horizon PC65 stands out with notable features and design elements. These yachts cater to a wide range of preferences and needs, making the choice a matter of personal taste and specific requirements in the world of luxury yachting.

When considering a new (or indeed used) yacht, it’s certainly important to wonder about the alternatives in the Horizon PC Series range or indeed its competitors. Browse our hand-picked selection of 7 competing models.
