The 40 was built in France by Jeanneau with a multi-award winning international design team, exterior styling by Studio Garroni and interior design by Jeanneau from France. The 12.33m/40'5" sportsboat constructed in GRP can sleep up to seven guests in two cabins. She was available with a range of inboard engine options.
The hugely successful Leader 40 delivered three generations over more than 5 years of production. The very first generation Jeanneau 40 was announced in 2013 and production ran for over 2 years. The third and final generation Jeanneau 40 was announced in 2019.
Performance
The latest generation can comfortably maintain a cruising speed of 30 knots via its twin 300hp Volvo Penta D4-300 engines. In terms of range, the Jeanneau 40 has a standard range of 194 nautical miles (nm). By comparison, the Gen 3 has comparable performance to its predecessor, with no difference between their cruising speeds, and they are the same in terms of cruising time.
