During the initial announcment regarding the cancellation of the 2020 Southampton International Boat Show, British Marine indicated they were working on a smaller offering which would comply with the COVID-19 social distancing regulations and it appears they have kept their word.
Joining the list of cancelled 2020 yachting events in July, SIBS was originally scheduled to run from 11-20 September 2020, the same dates have now been dedicated to hosting the new BOATS2020 event.
Taking place at the purpose built marina Mayflower Park, British Marine has announced an upcoming display of 78 boats from 30 brands. In addition to a further 40 exhibitors showcasing an array of marine equipment.
I am delighted that we have been able to make this happen, at a time when so many other events have been cancelled. This not-for-profit event will offer boat buyers and the leisure marine industry a chance to come together with the reassurance that the event is within government guidelines.

Even with an extensive amount of changes compared to the annual SIBS event, BOATS2020 is promoting the chance for visitors to see 'a great range' of sailing boats, sports boats and more.
Much of BOATS2020 is yet to be revealed, however British Marine have announced that British shipyard Princess Yachts will be attending.
The list Princess models attending have not yet been released, however Colin Capewell, the Managing Director of Princess Motor Yachts Sales, has said Princess 'are promising a really exciting line-up'.
