Lürssen begin sea trials for 87m 'Project Hawaii'

German shipyard Lürssen have announced the beginning of sea trials for their 87m 'Project Hawaii' in the Baltic.

Launched back on the 21 January 2020 in Rendsburg, the yacht is now undergoing a series a tests before the final stages of construction can begin.

Powered by a pair of MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines, with a total of 2,622hp, the contract for the 87m Lurssen yacht was signed in 2017 and is heading for delivery later in 2020.

Advertising an interior volume of 2950 GT, there are still many details yet to be unveiled in regards to the interior layout, however the externals by Bannenberg & Rowell indicate a touch and go helipad on the foredeck and a beachclub environment complete with a round pool aft.
