The distinctive shark grey hull of Riva’s second 50m (164ft) superyacht has hit the water for the first time.
The launch of the aptly named ‘FIFTY’ took place at Riva Superyachts Division shipyard in Ancona. She is the second hull of the 50Metri, a third hull is also in build and expected to be completed next year.
The blue-tinged, shark grey exterior of FIFTY is the work of Officina Italiana Design. In keeping with Riva’s classic Italian style she also features use of mahogany, steel and glass in her elegant profile.
FIFTY provides accommodation for 12 guests and nine crew members. Her twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 diesel engines give her a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.
Ferretti Group CEO, Alberto Galassi, was excited to see the launch of FIFTY, saying: “My recommendation for those in search of great emotions is to take a look at this new Riva and the breathtaking way she shines with style, legend and innovation, all thanks to the talent and expertise of the workers involved."
Riva will be hoping FIFTY can match the success of its inaugural 50Metri model RACE, which was delivered two years ago. She picked up a Boat International Design and Innovation Award and a World Yachts Trophy.
The yard announced the creation of its new line in steel superyachts in 2014. Prior to the delivery of RACE its largest build had been 37m (121ft) FORA, delivered in 2014.
This has brought an additional element to Riva’s already diverse catalog of yachts for sale that ranges from cool sports yachts to beautifully finished flybridge yachts, all with top-quality build finish and lots of style. If you’d like to explore more you can view all Riva yachts for sale.
