On Deck

The yacht has recently undergone refurbishment, featuring new canopies, upholstery, and other new elements. The smart cantilever door and the new canopy were admired. He praised the reupholstered cockpit area and the new leather, which he found visually appealing.

Outside, Nick admired the yacht's side deck and foredeck, which he found to be a good size and secured. He noted the large storage area, which houses the generator and is ideal for storing items like inflatable paddle boards.

Interior

Nick appreciated the yacht's layout, especially the placement of the galley, which didn't take too much space. The sociability of the seating area was noted and the ample light that comes in through the large sliding roof. The galley comprises an electric hob, a fridge, a microwave, and storage, all of which can be hidden away to give the appearance of a sideboard.

The helm position was very satisfactory with its slim windscreen enabling a wraparound view. The yacht is equipped with two multi-function displays, engine instrumentation, an autopilot, a fusion stereo, a bow thruster, and electronic controls for the Volvo D4 engines. It also has trim tab controls and a VHF radio. Nick noted the excellent view from the helm position.

The lower deck of the yacht is spacious, considering the yacht's compact size. The boat features two cabins, each with its own ensuite, which was found unusual for a boat of this size. The first cabin contains a large, centrally placed double bed, a wardrobe, and plenty of storage. The ensuite is spacious and includes a shower area. The second cabin, while more compact, also has a double bed, wardrobe, and ensuite with a shower.

Performance

The boat's engines, a pair of Volvo Penta D4-300, are clean and well-maintained. They would give the boat about 28 knots.

In Summary

Overall, Nick was quite taken with the Beneteau Flyer 12, describing it as a very elegant boat.  He admired the boat's overall design, especially the lines, the flair of the bow, and the windscreen that wraps around. Nick also liked the boat's elegant wood trim and the sweeping structure at the back.
