On Deck

Boarding is via the bathing platform, leading to a walk-around deck. There are wide walkways on both sides, with drop-down balconies that extend the deck space. The aft section has a sunbathing area, with a backrest that can drop flat and a table with telescopic legs that lower to create an even larger lounging space. This setup is ideal for anchoring in a cove, having lunch, and relaxing for the afternoon.

A hardtop provides shade, covering a social seating area. The helm has three forward-facing seats, which can be reconfigured when stationary to integrate with the social space. The foredeck features a sunbathing area with cup holders and easy access along the deck. The bow houses the anchor winch, storage for canopies, and the anchor chain locker.

The interior layout prioritises cockpit space, with limited but practical accommodation. The galley is positioned on deck rather than below, keeping the space sociable. It includes a single burner hob, sink, fridge, storage, and bins. The galley is suited for preparing light meals rather than full-scale cooking. Below deck, additional facilities include a microwave and a secondary fridge, catering to those who choose to stay aboard overnight.

The materials and design inside keep it light and modern. Dark accents contrast against pale GRP sections and light wood, preventing the space from feeling too sterile. Lighting enhances the atmosphere, ensuring a comfortable and stylish environment.

The heads compartment is well-sized for a boat focused on outdoor living. It features a separate shower, making it convenient for rinsing off after swimming before heading to a restaurant or settling in for the night.

Guest Accommodation

Located in the bow, the main cabin is a comfortable sleeping space rather than a lounging area. It has good headroom, large hull windows, an overhead hatch, and opening sections for ventilation. Storage includes a hanging wardrobe and shelving. While there’s no dedicated dinette or saloon below, the focus remains on sleeping comfort, complementing the boat’s day-oriented layout.

A second cabin is positioned amidships with a large double bed spanning the width of the boat. Storage is available, along with an opening porthole for ventilation. Infills for the cockpit and bow sunbeds are stored here. The cabin is functional, offering a comfortable overnight space for guests without excessive frills.

The DB/37 is powered by twin Volvo Penta D4 320 engines, though outboard options are also available. The inboard setup provides efficient performance, with a top speed of approximately 33 knots and a cruising speed around 25 knots. Range at cruising speed is approximately 149 nautical miles with a bit still in the tank.

Engine access is excellent. A sliding cockpit section reveals a storage area, which can house a generator or a Seakeeper stabiliser. A ladder provides routine access, while a hydraulic lift raises the entire aft section for full engine access. This setup makes maintenance straightforward.

The Jeanneau DB37 is a proper day boat, and that's exactly what it is. The layout focuses on open, social spaces rather than cramming in accommodation that won’t get much use. The seating arrangements, drop-down balconies, and sunbathing areas make it a brilliant boat for entertaining, whether anchored in a quiet cove or just out for a spin. It’s not trying to be a long-range cruiser or a high-performance machine, but it delivers exactly what it sets out to - a fun, stylish, and practical platform for a great day on the water.
